finally got the car registered today. and as im leaving vicroads and go over a bump i can hear a rattle and feel it too. pulled into a garage and hoisted it up and saw that a rubber had cracked. is it still safe to drive on? having the rubber replaced tomorrow
You should replace the links and rubbers with S style links and urethane pivots.
Yes it will be ok to drive for a little while.

When you replace/upgrade stick a bit of Loctite on the thread before you do them up. I have the Z bar style ones with neoprene (blue) bushes and they work themselves loose every couple of weeks, even with nylock nuts on them.
neoprene?? your bushes are made out of an old wetsuit? doubt it
blue bushes (my guess is superpro) are still urethane, only difference being they used a different dye.
as for nuts coming undone in a few weeks, there's something seriously wrong there. nylocks shouldn't come loose at all. loctite will fix it, but i'd be more inclined to fix the problem rather than the symptom
