Sup boys,
Just went on a cruise last weekend and a few vr / vs had awesome false floor walls that had their amp / sub enclosed in them, thing is they were professionally done but i would like to do it myself. Heres a picture of one out of a Vq statesman:
It has the false wall and floor but im only after the wall part.
Now ive searched this forum and only come up with the sides of boots for custom jobs but no actual HOW TOs, like something with proper measurements etc. If someone could shine some light on this / show me theirs so i cud get a trace of somesort, that wud be awesome.
Cheers.
I made my own false floor and sub boxs that fit into my car, was made all from wood . Didnt really measure the shape of the boot thou cos its all on tricky angles , i just got cardboard boxs and taped them together and used a stanley knife to cut of bits and use this as a template. Im guessing you would have to use brackets to hold a false wall up in the boot but it shouldnt be to hard to make it
if you do the false floor idea, instead of drilling into your floor, glue some blocks of wood to the floor and drill into them(i guess the same could go for the sides and wall?)
i reckon the other way around would probably be better...... if you have hinges on the top you would need to lift it up and getting underneath would be a bitch, but if the hinges are on the bottom, it would sort of just fall flat with the floor?
Well you could get the hinges to fold down idea to work , just the whole pannel wont be able to fold down just a certian part, or maybe you could have it so it opens to the side like a normal door lol. OR if your really good with wood you could make a sliding door :P
Just a thought, but maybe you could make it so as that you access the gear through the fold down section on the rear seat, no hingers or latches to fit and or hide then
