    Default Lowered Shocks - Help!

Hi, i am lowering my vs with irs in the rear first, i am wondering if i need short stroke shocks if i am putting it just above the tyre with stockies on (around 2inch)?? would moroe gt gas shocks be the best for this or some ultima short strokes i found on ebay? Monroe i can get for $165 new or ultima $150. Also, does anyone know what spring acheives this ride height? i want the car to handle well too.
    Thanks very much,
    Anthony.

    Anthony,

If you want the car to handle as well, then forget about Monroe GT Gas, for the same money (in fact less) get yourself and pair of KYBs or Boge.

We can a pair of KYB shortened rears shocks to suit for $145 delivered, and are lights years ahead of the GT Gas in quality and performance.

A 2" drop would usually be Super Low springs.

    Regards,
    Greg

So your saying you can do a pair of KYB Shortened Rear Shocks to suit King Spring Superlows for $145? How much would postage be to Adelaide, SA and also how much for front shocks too since KYB are better then Monroe GT Gas and stock worn out shockers?

    Thanks
    Matt

    Matt,

If it's shocks for the ute, KYB don't do a shortened shock, and the regular ones are a bit more expensive than sedan at $79 each. Postage to SA would be $25.

Shortened front shocks are available, $139 each. No extra freight if ordered with rears, or else the same $25 on their own. If you order both front and rear we can do it for $449 delivered.

    Greg

You'd go most things over a Monroe...

The GT Sport are actually a pretty good shock, but ridiculously priced, you'd go a KYB or Boge for alot less money.

I liken Monroe to Bendix and DBA: Their cheap stuff is absolute rubbish, and their half-decent stuff is ridiculously overpriced to be competitive... All 3 (but particularly Bendix) are surviving off reputations they built years ago, but in today's market just don't have what it takes at the moment.

Both Bendix and Monroe are subsidiaries of very large companies (Tenneco and FMP Group) who are too tied up in satisfying OEM contracts to really give a rats about aftermarket... DBA are pretty good, their Kangaroo paw and 2 piece rotors are the shiz, but their standard stuff is just too overpriced and gets beaten by the silly stick by RDA.

    that's true....

btw i remember hearing a while ago that if your going to replace your rear shockers on live axle cars, then get wagon shockers because they are abit shorter or something?

dont know how true it is, but if it is it could be an option

    Matt,

Just had a chance to go through a few bits and pieces and work out what we can use. Yep, can definitely do a shortened shock for the back of the ute, $105 each in a Oztec. The Oztec are as good a quality shock as you'll get, and use a full 60mm body for greater fluid capacity, versus between 30-40mm for most other.
