Default new engine after head gasket blown

After getting advise on this forum for my commodore vs 95 see link to forum

what to do with 1995 with head gasket problems
I have decided to try and get a new engine for the car.

I have got a quote for $1500 for a low km engine (120,000km) to be installed. Some mechanics I have called have quoted really high prices because they say the radiator will have been affected. Is this a real concern that I should be worried about?

    Thanks

Has the original problem that caused the overheat been diagnosed?
It may have been the radiator.

    Are you in NSW?
