when ever my auto vr v6 gets to a speed where acceloration is no longer required and the revs are at 1500 it seems to surge up to 1700 bak to 1400 then bak up and continue to do so as quik as i can rev the car myself, whats causing this???????
My first guess is that the TCC (torque converter clutch) is locking/unlocking - thats if I understand your post correctly as you say it happens when acceleration is no longer required like when cruising at 80 kph which equates to 1500 - 1700rpm.
Try doing a code check which is pretty easy:
Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
thanks man also torque converters ive been thinkin of gettin a nu one iv been told to get one with a higher rev or something eg:current one is i think 2700 apparently i should get a 4700 one or something and if i got a new torque converter would this stop the surging
yes it would, you are looking at alot of money for a new tc. you may be up for a new box if it is surging as something must have broken in there.
take it to a transmission specialist.
If you got a 4700 stall for your car, you would need a pretty awesome tranny cooler, also the life of you engine wouldnt be to long unless its built to do those revs all the time.
I would only recommend a stall if you get a new cam.
vr v6 with a 4700 stall ?
lol.
SIR LS1

yeh i laughed to lol but a guy i know did it he dont car if his car blows up coz its only his run around and it kicks as$ lol i not sure if it 4700 but i no it over 4000 but anyway how much would a nu t.c cost and i wouldnt want one to much advanced just one a bit better than stock??
