Default battery light got me stumped

so this has got me stumped, my battery light is coming on quite regularly in my car and am stumped as to why, have replaced my alternator and have new battery, any ideas why it might still come on intermittently?

new or second hand alternator could be brushes its easy to change the regulator on the back with a new unit which has new brushes or check the red wire from alt to battery positive may be stuffed at the connection

second hand alternator, mechanic got it for me and he said it was a good one, might check the connection to the battery then, could that cause it to have a faulty charge?

yip if the light comes on get out and push the black unit on the back of the alternator in wards and if the light goes off it needs brushes

There is a 'charge warning light' wire which plugs into the back of the alternator - I think it's brown - check this is making good contact.
