are you doing it yourself?...I got my vt brakes from a bloke at Ipswich and fitted them myself but there are a few traps for the uneducated.
Mr spares can set you up its just the freight that adds a bit to the overall price.

    2 ways to fix this.....

stay with a VR/VS type rotor from DBA (slotted or drilled your choice)
with say Ferodo pads... a nice cheap easy way to get better brakes
..no mods works well (I have this on the VR and its good)

    or
go to the VT/VX rotor and caliper upgrade with matching pads
more expensive and has its problems..most get it to work in the end
but it does stop a bit better

    the DBA/Ferodo upgrade is easy

with car safely up on stands.... (not on jacks)
remove rotors after first removing calipers (remove road wheels first )
the original ones may rust to the front bearing hub so they need some persuasion to come off (backs should come off if handbrake off)
put new DBA rotors on (after removing disc Rustguard with petrol or Prepsol)
    put Ferodo pads in calipers
    put calipers back on
....can I suggest a brake fluid bleed/flush here also
then go and bed in Ferodo pads as per the instruction sheet
    and
    you are done

Roughly, $75 for new rotors each, + $60 or so for a set of front or rear pads.
Forgive me if I don't reply to a query straight away. The E-mail notification function only works 50% of the time for me.

    Definately go with the DBA's.

Ive got the cross drilled/slotted on front and rear and personally I think its the best investment Ive made.

Granted your tyres are in good shape, the brakes/discs bettered my expectations. Not neccessarily in fast situations, but those times when people/cars jump out infront of you out of nowhere - they handled perfectly.

    THREAD DIG!!! lol.
Depends on what brand/quality of rotor and pad he is fitting.
But for $300 bux including labour I wouldnt imagine it to the that great of quality, personelly Id rather spend big on my brakes and go with high quality parts.

$300 seems right, good price actually, as $45 to $60 for each rotor, and set of pads. he charging it seems $150 for labour for nearly 2 hours work, seems fair. Make sure he flushes the brake fluid as well in that price. Is this for fronts only, or rear as well ?

Oh didnt think about that, I assumed the poster meant all 4. Agreed not a bad price if using quality rotors and pads for just the front or back. If its for all 4 then no, he has to be using shit stuff and charging next to no labour.
