staling vr 5ltr calais

gday guys and girls new 2 the forum have a 5ltr calais hsv enhanced and wen is at running temp and put in reverse or drive she stalls any suggestions would be appreciated cheers

Probably the ignition module or the coil - both can give trouble when hot. Here is a good link about someone with your same problem. Also try a search on this forum - just put "5 litre stalls" in the search machine and presto:

i recently had this problem. i changed the coil and its all good.

i wouldnt put the coil in the original spot. move it to the inner guard and it'll be better.

i couldnt get the original coil out so i broke the wires off.the brown wire is the ground or negative and the red the positive

Just a thought, my Vr V6 was doing this really badly recently, I couldn't stop the car in drive at idle without it stalling let alone changing directions.

The alternator had packed it in and I had put a new alternator in and the car ran like an absolute pig, stalling/ misfiring, the gearbox dropped first gear and went into limp mode, checked it out and the new alternator was playing up, once I changed the alternator again she runs smooth as without any problems.

Most probably isn't this but thought i'd let you know just in case.

When you get this problem check the usual things like alternator, fuel filter, fuel pump

Check your vacuum hoses too although that would happen all the time not just when hot, also check things like where it idles when cold and where when at norm temp etc, you may be able to figure out that its something simple.

cheers i will check coil an ignition switch i must ask is their a way to reply to all my msgs at once or must this be done one by one.
