    Default VS fuel pressure

    I have this question buried in another thread that didn't get answered:

    The Gregory's manual quotes the fuel pressure for a VS as:

    Approx 280 kPa at idle
    320-350 kPa at idle with vacuum hose disconnected.

    My question is what does Approx 280 kPa" mean? Is 240 kPa approximately 280 kPa?

    I had the mechanic test the pressure - I don't have the gear.

    Results were 240 kPa at idle with a flow rate of 2L/min. He said the pressure and flow was within specifications, and I was wondering whether he was confusing it with the VR fuel pressure. It seems low to me, but the mechanic might just be realistic - Not sure.

    just checked my book, haynes, and it lists the pressure at

    idle = 240-260kpa
    engine off = 280-320kpa

    seams in range to me

    Thanks Ephect - although I find it strange that the Haynes and Gregory's manuals list different amounts, seeing as the Gregory's manuals are published by Haynes???

    One thing I did notice is that both the Ellery and Haynes manuals are for VR-VS or for VN-VS respectively. Only the Gregory's manual is VS specific.

    Might have something to do with it???

    EDIT: Bosch also recommend different regulators for the VR and VS
