    Default exhaust welding

    hey guys im going to buy extractors tomoro for my vr 6 n just wandering if theres any welding involved for fitting? if not do you think i should fit them myself or just save the hasle n pay extra?

    There probably will be, especially if you're using the stock cat.
    All extractors I've see and fitted on these vehicles involves a matching flange to be cut and shut onto your existing system.

    Get the shop to do it, really doesn't involve too much extra work, depending on the brand of extractor used.

    The cat back is irrelevent because it's from the catalytic converter - back.

    Typical layout of the exhaust

    Exhaust Manifold/Extractors -> Y pipe -> Catalytic converter -> Muffler -> Resonator -> Tip

    All parts can be replaced ("Full system") but the Y pipe is usually retained for some reason

    VR V6 extractors all come supplied with Y piece, and will bolt up from engine straigt through to cat:

    Alot of people are talking about the VS (because they dont come with the Y piece)

    as per my reply in the other thread, All 3 major brands for extractors on a VR V6 are bolt on jobs from engine through to cat.

    Just makes sure you use some exhaust sealant
