VR Intermittent Engine Problem

For some reason, Sometimes my VR Wagon just wont start and the engine light comes on. The engine turns over but just doesn't start. After a couple minutes, the engine light goes out and the car starts up fine. The fuel pump engages fine and the fuel filter is new. I can't run the diagnostic because it only happens about once a week, and I'm not prepared for it when it happens. Ive checked the leads and the plugs. Would it maybe be a sensor? Thanks in advance!

Check the battery terminals - they need to be clean and tight. You can check for logged fault codes at any time....they are retained in the ECU memory. I'd also check that the flashing red light below the radio goes out when you try to start the car - if it doesn't it means the immobiliser is not switched off.
