Which auto transmissions will fit the VS?

Gentlemen,

The auto in my 8/96 VS Series 2 has given up and I need to source another one from a wrecker. I'm aware that the VR auto will not suit. Will the VT transmission fit, or do I need to chase up a VS unit specifically?

If we have any transmission specialists on the board I'd really appreciate any assistance. I've had a search of past threads however I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

There was a similar thread on here recently. From memory the answer was that you are best to stick with a VS box. The VT box has a different plug i think !?

VT has a separate bellhousing and needs the exhaust modified to fit. Easiest to source a VS box as greenacc says - either 5HDD, 6HDD or 7HDD. VR has the different plug. 80% sure that's correct!
