Powerchip
cool cool! I'd like to get some insight on the first one though!
1. Do a search and you will see that those chip are rubbish. Search for Nicefrog on ebay (Greenfoam on here) to hook you up with a tuned memcal.
2. They are good cai's but only worth about $50 from Holden, so you are better off grabbing one from them.

Oh cheers guys!
Once again absolute legends when it comes to helping!
I'm working on a VR I just got (to replace my last one)
I'll post up the intended mods and so on in the My Ride section soon!
Cheers guys!
all those performance chips u see for 20ish bucks and say 20hp increase en stuff like that, dont buy them they are unreliable and will most likely **** up ur engine, as with what philthy said search for nicefrog on ebay, they are legit performance memcals
my dads friend had one on his car and shit it was crap, made the car run hotter and kept flooding as it tricked the ecu into pump up more fuel, something like that anyway
I have the same CAI with K&N not a massive change but smoother delivery and more responsive
In addition to the good advice above, suggest reading:
eBay Performance Chip Q & A
Those "20+hp" things simply trick your engine into thinking it's always cold, the engine compensates by altering the air/fuel mixture, which does give you more power, at the expense of fuel and engine/exhaust life. Stay away from them and get a proper performance tune as suggested above. Greenfoam has an impeccable reputation around here for his tunes.

These cheap-o "performance chips" are a total gimmick! simply a resistor you put inline with your O2 sensor, bad news for your engine, tricks the engine into thinking the fuel/air mix is wrong so it adjusts the mix to balance it according to the incorrect reading. Bad idea, makes your engine run hotter and will cause premature wear on your engine.
I have just recently bought a CAI and "Performance Memcal" on e-bay from These guys: blackstar7000
$224.00 delivered to my door. The Memcal took literally 6mins to install. the cold air intake took about 20mins as i had to install my original Airbox and ditch my pod. both mods have made a great improvment, specifically the Memcal, the Power band is incredibly smooth and with the CAI it pulls a lot harder right through the rev range. Best $224.00 i have ever spent.
i would Never buy one of these so called "Performance Chips." The figures they claim are total BS, and you can get Resistors from a Dick Smiths or any electronics shop for around 5c. Or alternatively wait 50 years for the wires to become corroded and generate their own resistance.
Cheers
heard nothing but bad things about blackstar. just stick to a greenfoam tune for $50 or so

can't speak for chips, but blackstar7000 sent me (to NZ) hsv badges lights few other bits and pieces and they seemed fine. Oz ebay members are great when they send to NZ as everything here is so god damn expensive.
I dealt with blackstar7000 a fortnight ago and brought a CAI off them. It was great because they had a NZ bank account, didnt have to use failpal
Cai did pretty much nothing thow :\
