    How are those 3.7s going for you? I was speaking to a mate of mine about getting an L67 for my S1 Calais and he mentioned this sweet white Calais that was at his work for some diff gears.

    Im pretty much looking to do the same thing as yours (hopefully) after seeing Darryl's S2 in action and your car in the build.

    I would strongly advise against swapping the top end over, its certainly possible but the L67's main strength is it bottom end, where it is suited to forced induction by way of lower compression pistons. I did a full engine swap from a S3 Statesman.

    Yeah i recon, those mods will be on hold for a little while but im certainly keen to score some VE SS-V's as soon as i can.

    Yeah it was at Wangara Automatics last week getting the LSD and 3.7 gears, I like Gary, he always does the right thing by me so i will always take my cars to him. Does your mate work there? Im loving the gears, by far the best performance mod ive done to the car so far.

    I was up in Kalgoorlie 2 week ends ago, i took Darryl's for a drive to see what the 3.45 gears were like with a mini-spool. He let me lighten the rear rubber abit also Top bloke, always keen to help out.

    Yeah a guy named Luke. Pretty sure thats where he works. Now to keep saving and start searching for a Statesman or even Calais wreck to get an L67 from. Id like to have it done before Powercruise but that might be me getting way ahead of myself. :P

    The entire conversion was completed in one day. I started 6am Sunday and it started first time at 9pm that night.

    I must thank my old man Joe, his mate Jim and Justin(Astro) for giving me a hand at different times throughout the day.

    This is the video of its first startup, i forgot to connect a vacuum line on the rear of the drivers side head so it sounds cammed. lol

    Very clean car mate, i'm impressed. Can I ask what power your car run in n/a form? And how much the power increased with stock L67?

    Power output is listed in the first post.

    Power:
    L36 = 154.6rwhp
    L67 = 210.6rwhp (Before intake was done)

    Torque was the biggest improvement with the L67, Pete ran an 11.9 second 1/4 mile with roughly 290rwhp. Dyno figures are not as good as track times

    Hey mate, yeah there should be a difference.

    3.08 doing 100km/h - 1750rpm
    3.7 doing 100km/h - 2100rpm

    Before i put my speedo correction kit in the speedo was doing 127km/h when the sat nav was reading 100km/h. So maybe your gauge is saying 100km/h when your actually doing 80km/h. The diff gears will make you speedo read much higher.

    yeh man hahaha I tested it last night on the freeway after I put it in but no one was on it so I couldnt judge, but I was doing 100 today and everyone was flying past me and I was like wtf?? lol. What wire did u splice the speedo corrector into? im so confused on which wire it is.

    There is a violet/white wire running from PCM to speedo (C5 on the wiring diagram). You simply cut it and wire it into the correction kit, then give it 12V & Ground, then follow the tuning instructions that come with the kit. To easy, however i strongly recommend reading the PM i just sent you, they list possible variations in speed sensors.

    Here is a picture of the speedo correction kit when i had finished soldering it together and wired it into the car.

    $54.95, much better than $220, $295 & $350 that i was quoted to supply & install a correction kit from performance shops.

    A few friends said they were going down to the last Woop Ass Wednesday yesterday so i decided to go and have some fun. Although deciding to go down at lunch on the day never works ay, i would have really liked to siphon some fuel out (i had a full tank) and remove my stereo. It weighed in at 1550kg ffs (without me), a friends S2 VS Calais was 1540kg (with him sitting in the car).

    Plus there were way to many people there, i only got 3 runs in. First two runs were really shit, the last run i had it worked out and ran a 14.2, with a 2.0 60'. Still lacking some top end, needs a cam

    14.691@93.16mph - 2.165 (60ft) Winner vs Casper
    YouTube - Woop ass wednesday 28th May 2009

    14.650@93.45mph - 2.159 (60ft) Winner vs R33 GTR (he couldnt drive for shit im assuming)
    YouTube - Me vs R33 GTR

    14.278@94.93mph - 2.056 (60ft) Winner vs Subaru WRX
    YouTube - Me vs Subaru WRX

    I worked it out on the last run, i stalled it up properly, the others i wasnt stalling it very much if any(concentrating on to many things lol).

    Not a bad run man
    Im workin hard to try & save up for my L67 @ the moment, cant wait Any idea on what cam you want to run? also the diff gears your running they would be more for acceleration i gather? you can see the cars quick off the mark, just have to get the legs in the top end now

    Cheers cxcx,

    Ive already decided on the XP-Hot Cam from ZZP, its basically the best performing cam without any headwork, or so im told. My 60' times of 2 seconds are pretty good, they seem pretty dominant over 60'. Although i havent seen a Evo or STI's 60' times.

    It certainly lacks top end, more boost and cam will fix that
