Bullbar is cheap insurance against Roos. I had far to many close calls in the VT and VK to the point I was borrowing a friends 4wd anytime after dusk. Picked this ute up with it already on there, so it was a bonus, slightly over the top though haha.

I can relate to the want of caution against Roos. I was driving up to Sydney with my Dad a little while ago, 3am a 6ft Bull Roo is just standing there in the middle of the road, almost totalled the family VT wagon when we hit it. Apart from the horrendous damage to the front, there was quite a bit of roo meat left over haha.

Yeah, there a bastard and are allways full of suprises haha, so thought it time to be prepared for them lol, though the bullbar is alloy so anything to big is still going to bend the bar, and lets hope not the chassis rails.

HAHAHA, You should have seen it before I raised the front 100mm, it really was a snow plow. Dual battery setup is awesome, best thing I ever wasted money on lol.

Update, the ute has been giving me a few problems latley.

The clutch starting slipping pretty bad, to the point it was undriveable. So bought a new flywheel, clutch, thrust bearing, Clutch fork rubbers and went to get to work.
Removed the cluutch cable adjustment and found pieces of metal sitting there. The clutch fork spring had snapped, causing the fork to go where ever it felt like, bending clutch fingers, stuffed the bearing and rubbers. That spring is next to impossible to obtain except from Dellow Automotive (Thanks to them my ute is back on the road). Also spotted the rear seal leaking, so bought another, which kinked when installing. Bought another, kinked on installation AGAIN, so went and bought two more, first one went in no whuckers Whilst on the hoist I looked up to discover a cracked radiator, explains the slight coolant leak I had. Also put a brand new radiator in today. Now the ute is FINALLY all go.

    Next plans:
Full Tonneau cover - Needs to be a custom made one for press studs.
    Decent speakers, possibly an amp.
    Spot lights.
Im considering a CB Radio caus Im sick of the Portable, but I dont want to run the antenna and look like a bigger redneck

Don't get a CB mate, they have no range. You would probably be better off shouting to the person. If you lived in town they would be alright, but you live in the country among trees and probably hills, and the power of a CB just does'nt cut it in my opinion.
You don't need to run one of those massive wanka ariels. Just get a nice little neat GME metal one. Thats what i have on my ute, and its the same as yours. Its only about 50cm long and it gives the UHF plenty of range.
Just get a decent GME set and be done with it, yes i know they are a little pricey, but you wont regret it, and they last for ages.
    I have got a GME TX3800. Recommended!

I have the aerial tabs on the bullbar, so will most likely utilise them.

Sorry, I meant UHF, I just call them CB's cause im lazy and the old 27mhz is before my time Ill definitly be buying GME radio and aerial, wouldnt use anything else, the uniden in car ones just sound shit house. Not sure which radio, but I've been looking at the TX3420, TX3440, and TX3340 mainly because I want to mount it away, and only either have the face on display neatly, or a radio with an LCD mic so I dont have to mount the whole unit insight.

Thanks, I polished it in the photos from the cruise. It actually looks worse, the alloy is really oxidised (if thats what you call it), so just looks cheap and tacky, hardy to see if its covered in bugs and blood I seen some industrial alloy wash/polish the other day, might have to try something like that and see if it works.

yeah it works really well, we get the drivers onto it for our trucks and the alloy wheels and bars come up real nice. i've actually got some in the shed somewhere, i'll have a look later and let you know what it is. its more of a cleaner than a polish, which in your case would probably be a good thing haha.

but after you hit it with the stuff for a bit, get some polish and a buff onto it. will be like a mirror

i asked the head mechanic at morwell today what polish they give to drivers on the trucks, its 'autosol purple polish' or something like that.

considering the trucks that they look after are really shiney, i think you should get your act together and get it clean.

haha not this weekend mate, i think im heading out to the moto gp with the old man if the weather is reasonable.

i think i'll leave it to you though...

figured a way to get cheap spotties, you just need to wait a year for the deni ute muster and win the circle work comp. all you need is some big holden flags off the bull bar and you're a shoe in!

I tryed this tonight on my bullbar, it actually turned it nearly white, and thats all, had to use a cutting compound to get it back to how it was. Will try and get the other stuff tomorow if I can escape from work early.
