So here is the story for my love for Statesmans's. It has been an expensive Journey and it will still be but not for much longer. I will take you through all the things i have done to it and all the things i plan to do with it. I will also tell you some major things that have happend since i have had my cars. This will be a long read and may be boring.
I purchaced my first statesman (stacey) back at the start of 2008 for my first car. I really wanted a V8 as i just loved the sound and tourqe. I bought a rather cheap car that had quite a few problems and no recipts of anything. So it was a gamble but the car was just "me". Im sure a few of you guys know what i mean when i say that. Here is a list of the things i had fixed up when i bought the car.
First Bank Buster:
Bought 25/2/2008 $5,200
Transfer $153
Idler Pulley $39
Oil + Filters $83.78
New Windscreen $245
Licence $481.20
Insurance $1200
Fuel Pump, New Coil, New Belts, Fuses, Gearbox Service, Diff Service, New CAS, Throttle Body Clean, Injector Clean. All performed by Holden - $1269.50
New Muffler $150
New Rear Rotors/Pads $199.29
Alignment $45
Brand New Starter Motor $395
New Front Rotors/Pads $182.91
New Rear Tyres $310
Total Spent In First Month: $9953.68
Here are some photos:
This is what happens when someone is drink driving infront of you.
After what you see above, I was pushed into getting Stacey prepped for paint and a new motor. So i needed another car. Let me introduce Steven. This car is on GAS and is my new daily till my otherone is show spec. I will be posting updates of both cars for you. Stay tuned!!

Looks nice mateSame wheels as me... 18x8 DTM Ultralite Battle Wheels? I got mine second hand, and unfortunately the prick before me scuffed them quite a bit...
I hope someone swaps the rims on your two statos in the middle of the night sometime and you jump in the wrong one![]()
Haha. Thanks man. The ones on that stato are only 17"s. Once it is painting i will be looking for some bigger rims. 18's Max. I might put in a custom plate over the wheels so it tucks like the vq's without dropping it to a stupid level. I see to many people driving around with 20's these days. They just dont do it for me. And at $350 per decent tyre, I dont think the bank balance will like it when i decide to light up the rears.

Yeah tires are an absolute mongrel on anything with some size... Personally I think 18's look a bit small on the statos... But fortunately for you, it won't cost you any more because you refuse to go any bigger. I'm happy with my 18x8s, despite the scuffs. An extra 30mm of tread on every wheel makes a phenomenal difference
I saw a mate of mine doing a decent set of stationary wheel rotations on a set of brand new 235/40/18 bridgestones, on his dad's car... Daddy now has his balls framed, hanging on the wall.
haha.
When i get 18"s ill make sure they look bigger :P I actually like it when it is drag ready (stockies). But for some reason they never last long.....................

Yeah stockies will do that... I reckon it's the tires fault, It's just not good enough to hold traction...![]()

Stacy roadworthy?
Very keen on stacy. Whats paint like? How many KM's? Roadworthy? Send me a PM with some photos, I'm in bunbury.
Both are road worthy (ex the 5% tint on stacey). Stacey is abit rough but i was going to get it all fixed up and i was looking at about 1k to get the entire body back to perfet. Then paint was going to be done by my friend who is a spray painter.
You can see the damage in the rear on this photo

the front damage

note that i have new lights and park lights, but the indicatior still has no front cover. it has been cleaned up and the cops dont hassle me about it.
Steven has done 283,000k's and Stacy has done 328,000. Im not sure if the previous owner had the engine rebuilt or what ever but it pulls a 14.3 so who knows. Also amost every bushe in stacy has been upgraded to nolathane. The cars are serviced every 5000k's with New oil, oil filter, plugs and air filter. most the damage on stacy was done by the previous owner so i have kept it in the same conditon as when i bought it really. just fixed her up. pm me if you are interested.
