Hey guys
I have had this VS now for about a month and want to show you my pride and joy.
Name: Lauchlan
Age: 17
Location: Gold Coast
Model: VS Acclaim
Made: 1995
KM: 188 000km
Colour: Maroon
Engine Type: 3.8L V6
Modifications: None, completely stock
Transmission: Auto,4 speed
Wheels/Tyres:
Wheels: 16" ROH wheels with 225/50/16
Tyres: some cheap brand lol grip alright though
Standard sound system
In the future i hope to have this rolling on HSV wheels, SS induction, Stainless steel exhaust system (probs go 1.75" and then to 2" from the cat back), ultra low king springs. I will keep the stereo to a minimum because i want my car to sound like a MOTHER F***ER. I will also take that grey trim off that runs around the whole car. If i get enough money over the years I will probs upgrade to VT or even a VZ wagon. Keep you guys updated on the car.
Thanks for looking
Hope you like

Nice and clean, a good building block to work with. A warning though, ultra low springs will give you a very tough ride and youll need shorter shocks and an adj panhard rod, can get expensive...
for the exhuast man just go pacemakers to a redback 2.5 sport system they sound good on the eco's
looking good. AGGHHH that height brings back bad memories
Hard to beleive cars used to be that high,

A bit of an update on the old girl. Getting serviced every 7500 kms so had a service about 500k's ago and all is sweet just for a few little things. Need new engine mounts, have some minor oil leaks, and needed some new brake pads. So ill be fixing them very soon. Took off the trolley strips and debadged acclaim to centre. Paint on roof and rear bumper is fading aswell
The other day got brand new:
-Brake pads on front and back
-Front rotors machined
-Brand new tyres on the front because the ones on the front felt like they were made in a sweat shop.......they were the shittest tyres ever. I drive like a grandpa and you could still feel it digging into the road going slow around a roundabout HAHA!
- Wheel allignment and balancing
-also, brand new RH tie rod but overall it handles much better and feels like a brand new car still
Put blue LED's behind the dash, looks very nice
Painted the rocker cover matte black, looks better than i thought
Degreased the engine a bit so you can see the fuel rails and what not, and sanded the manifold to give that newish look
I totally abandoned my plan of doing stuff to this car only because i plan to save up and get a VZ SS or something along those lines. Im doing my best to keep this car in tip top condition...i drive like a grandma, dodge pot holes, go about 5 km/h over speed bumps and never park near trolley bays. So unfortunetly im keeping this girl for a few more years maybe while fixing all the little leaks and so.
Thanks fella's
All feedback is welcome
What kind of paint did you use on the engine cover?
Cheers Josh
Sand it back to get rid of all the marks and then i washed it quickly.
I went over it twice with High tempreture brake caliper paint (Matte Black) and then i bought some Matte Black enamel paint from super cheap auto for like $3. The caliper paint isnt cheap but its worth it if its going under your bonnet so it wont crack or anything like that. Best advice, dont rush it and spray at a distance so you can really control how much you are using otherwise it will run!
