Hi guys ive just got another commodore,I used to own a vn sv150 and sold it to buy a honda and must say it was a bad idea.

My current ride is a vs senator mock,
    Original hsv body kit,Senator trim
Stock v6 ecotec and has an sports exhaust with superlows all round.
Next upgrade will be power windows
Im hoping to put a 5.0 in it in time.

    Ouch... haha. Nice comeback, Lol.

Sweet looking car, IMO when you go this far with the kit and wheels and everything, it doesn't look natural with normal holden badges. Your not trying to rip off or pretend its a real HSV, It just looks better with the badges that suit it. It's like buying some HSV wheels for your car then putting some normal holden badges over the HSV wheels. But then again it's just a badge, want to have a cry about it then maybe you need to find a new hobby.

What is a crime though is not having to power to back up the looks and badges.

Big deal he's put hsv badges on an exec, at least its a good lookin replica. Ive lost count how many fools have hsv badges on commos which are so obviously not. Whats worse is the amount of people with chev badges on ss commys (utes mostly) these days. Are they ashamed that they drive a holden? Its like putting a nissan badge on a vl 6. (which ive also seen)

Does look nice mate, but as said, needs some engine mods to boost the power.

i agree with the badges totally i think youve done a good job in making a replica. but definally drop a 355 in there, and also a manual imo. would be good and have the balls to back it up.

Very nice looking car... I'm usually under the impression that you can NEVER make an exec a clubby.. But you seem to have the motivation, and more importantly, the budget to make it happen. Looking forward to the 355! Either that or LSx it...

Power windows are very easy to fit too, I'd highly recommend using two people. I got so sick of giving my car a handjob every time i wanted some fresh air.

You might think why a executive?
Well so far the car ows me $4800 thats including respray and most prep work was done at home after hours with a mate.
Bought the wreck for $750 with reg and rear clubby bar and was not claimed on insurance so not a repairable write off.
$1200 in parts wich included 2 guards and senator bar and grill off ebay.plus radiator support wich i drilled out the old one.

$2000 to paint and paint inside engine bay aswell through a mate at his workshop.

Finally $500 for RWC and a few hundred to transfer.

So if i put another 10 grand into it im guaranteed to have an awsome street car thats fresh and not tired.
10grand will be for gearbox, diff and maybe a ls1 which think will just be enough.
    All up $15,000
it wont be a tired hsv for $15000 which is what they are fetching and most likely will need a freshen up, to up the performance.
Overall it might not be a genuine hsv or fetch the dollar they do? But i believe it will hold up mechanically better over time and i will have a great time and some fun with my new toy.
Some times its just not about the money, its more to do with accomplishment and joy.
Im not keen on buying a vs senator with close to 200,000 ks for 12 grand and start pouring money into it.Taking someone elses thrashed HSV
Hope this gives you some insight as to why i have chosen this route.

If you're looking to buy a VS clubby, check out cobez... He's selling, and that thing is pristine.

But yeah I see your point, it's not just about the money, it's a hobby.
