painted brake calipers and hubs black yesterday, looks better than the tacky red it had on before.

but i noticed when looking at the shocks that they all were some sort of monroe shock. are standard commodore shocks monroe or have these been changed. im just not sure as the previous owner lowered it so i dunno if they have been changed or not.

i keep thinking about getting rid of this thing. its done a few kays, i could still get ok money for it and i would love a 4x4 ute..

the vs is just that bit old now, cant be trusted and theres not as much aftermarket support as the newer utes. maybe i should get rid of it, get a daily 4x4 and when i get off my p's get a fast ute.

What sort of 4X4 ute you looking at?
Keep it and run two cars, 4X4 running costs SUCK , I spent another $250 on Diesel on the weekend, makes me want to cry everytime.

dunno yet, i know where i can get a turbo diesel dual cab holden rodeo for cheap haha. they arent the most extreme rigs but damn reliable. it already has long range tank, arb bars front and rear, canopy, cooper at/r's. it has stiffer rear leaves too. i reckon a 2 inch sus lift and maybe a bodylift with some agressive tyres and i should get some places.

fuel costs wont be an issue with the 4x4, i think i might know a place that has cheap diesel *wink*

My cruiser has 3" straight back from the Turbo, no mufflers, its loud and with 33's the turbo is going hackers, cant wait for the 35's to go back on.

My ute has leaked in the passenger footwell a couple of times NFI what causes it but it hasnt done it for ages, touch wood cause my car is a filing cabinet atm haha.

With the latch, is it when you open the tailgate the things dont spring back out to hold it shut? If it is, take them out and clean all the dirt and shit and regrease, worked with mine, needs doing again soon though.

nah its not that bit on the tailgate, its the alloy bits that sit on either side of the tailgate on the tub itself.

haha havent checked this in a bit.

ute still goes, i just fixed the floppy getrag shifter with some new bushes. it needs a set of spark plugs though, leads are fine.

did a quarter mile run using the iphone app 'light em up' (same as dynolicious, just with heaps of bosch adverts).

if you look at the power graph, you can see its not running very nice as the curve is very choppy.

i think the power would be pretty on the mark, i put 1500kg in as the vehicle weight as the other day i weighed it on our weighbridge and its was 1390kg nearly empty of fuel so now with around 20L in the tank and me driving it would be very close to 1500kg.

i'm going to get new shocks and a rear anti roll bar soon.
