hmm, i want to get the back end to sit level with the front so its not doing the snow plow trick but its very close to the bumpstops in the rear, i'll measure how much lower it needs to be and the distance from the bumpstops when i finish these bloody university assignments..

on the topic of rear suspension, im having issues when going across gutters at an angle such as petrol stations, what happens is the side that gets compressed by the driveway rubs against the inside of the guard, and if i'm not travelling quick enough i can get beached and just spin the wheel thats not being compressed.

i need something to limit uptravel it seems..

thats probably what i want to do first.

with lowering and bumstop im think u need to get smaller bumpstops or cut them in utes cos my mates ute is lowerd and hit the bumps stop and give a very harsh ride

thats the thing its not that low. sorta confusing. just took some measurements.

front clearance behind wheelarch on bottom of sill - 200mm
rear clearance in front of wheelarch on bottom of sill - 240mm

so that means i'd drop 40mm in the rear to sit close to level. a 40 mm drop would mean the rear wheels would be under the guard by about 10mm.

but bump stop clearance to where it makes contact with the diff housing bit is only around 10 - 15 mm....

    hmm.

yeah 240 mm clearance and its scrubbing hhhhhmmmm my mate has this problem but his rims are tucking normally so its understandable. my suggestion go talk to someone at a suspension store, u dont have to pay for their advice just get a quote from them on what you need, buy the parts on the quote list from a wholesale suspension and install it yourself.

yeah i'll get someone to check it out, and have a chat to the old man. he seems to know a fair bit about stuff and things...

i wanna get my windows re-tinted as the tint is scratched and is pretty old, should i take it off or just send it in there to get it all done with the old tint still on?

does anybody know if you can get a carby v8 to pass a roadworthy etc in a vs? or do you have to go the injected route?

ok so i've read on here that you can get some shorter bumpstops for the rear (off pedders), do i need to get different shockers in the rear to cope with the longer up travel or given that the shocks dont bottom when the tyre is in the guard do i not worry about it.

i've gotta get new front bumpstops now too as they have fallen apart and the boot thing has a hole.

only issue is that i don't know what shocks or springs are in it anyway, might just pull them all out soon and check them

nah no scrubbing for me in the front, but it is running a bit of negative camber, so it might be helping clearance... bump steers like a bitch!

saw ya on the highway this arvo, picked it out from the bullbar haha.

Sweet, that opens up my tyre choice, I can get way better non "high performance" bullshit in 235 but not 225

Haha, Yeah just as I mention I havent seen it, I spot you. Should have tagged along, we only just got home from Two different forum/club meets.

i'd be surprised if you get rubbing in the front as im a bit lower than you.. the tyres i have atm aren't much chop but they seem to be lasting a lot better than previous ones, they seem to walk about a bit.

do you get the inside of your tyre in the rear rubbing against the inside guard when its all flexed up?

i'm just waiting on my tax return before i start playing with things, just saw on the pacemaker website that VS's with a getrag box that you have to modify the pipes. anybody done this?

also toying with getting a new shifter to make the gearbox not feel like goo, but thats still um and ar at the moment. it would want to be a fair bit better as i can still live with the OE shifter.

Do the shifter, you know you want to

That mobile entrance is retarded, not sure if I scrub going in or what, but my ute makes all sorts of noises going in that way, even the VT with IRS didnt like it. Going slower only made it worse haha.

DOOOO IT.... Im so close to buying one to so I can just see what its like, hence why I think you should buy one first, then I can buy spotties before a shifter
