Well, I had to get rid of my 5.0L and pick up a V6 wagon to fit in 2 kids and their 552143216kg's of cargo they need just to leave the house lol. I'm not building this to smash V8's or Super6's as this is my wifes daily driver now, but I at least want to make it a nice, comfortable car to drive around in.
I ended up swapping it for this. Drives smooth, and I've only found a few minor things to fix on her so far. Most of the stuff here can be sourced cheaply from the wreckers or on here, so it isn't as bad as it looks lol.

Fixed the battery light flickering. Who can see what's wrong in this picture?
Left is a 2nd hand one I obtained from the wreckers. Right is the one that came out the car. Should last a while befoe I replace it with a new one as money is very tight at the present time.
Seems like a fair bit of work you needa do.
but im sure itll turn up quite schmick after all is done
vt ss rims are always nice on white vr/vs in my mind![]()
Yeah the good thing about the stuff that needs fixng is that it's not overly expensive stuff, and some of it I am a bit picky about. Like the console plastic, and boot carpet and cosmetic stuff like that.
How much was the voltage reg. from the wreckers?
I think they go for around $30ish I think. I replaced the one in my old VR 5L and that was $60 brand new.
Ohk yeah, I replaced mine like 3 months ago, $60 new from Holden aswell. Would just be dissapointing if you got ripped off lol
Put clear indicators in, did a similar mod as the 2 hole mod on the air box, pretty much cut the whole front bottom part out and cut one side of the snorkel, so it still blocks hot air from the engine, but still acts like a snorkel fro the whole front of the box instead of 1/2 and pulled out the roof lining and found I have no anchor points (well in the correct position like all the wagons with barriers at the wreckers so Im going to have to spend money I dont have to get it frickin installedMore pics soon...
Drove 1,778k's to melb and back, car went like a dream, temp didn't go above the 2nd notch and I spent appox $200 in fuel and I still have 1/4 tank left and did about 200k's runnting around in vic too.
some new pics on the trip and some speakers I found in the shed That I'm going to put in soon.
EDIT: some of the pics won't upload so I'll have to try later.
