Default darrens manual vr ...thrasher/daily ...

picked this VR up this arvo....very rough cosmetically but mechanically it goes good just needs a new pinion (bearing?) in the diff and a proper exhaust...

-3.8 buick with a 5 speed behind it
    -vs calais door trims
    -power windows
    -bucket seats
    -lukey extractors
    -caprice rear seat
    -strut brace
    -adj panhard rod
-17" ROH furys (16's are on the back atm though)

originally wanted to buy a shitbox to get to work in as i work alot of nights and hate leaving my VS in town after finding out a fellow worker got his car jumped on by 3 blokes. My mate happened to be selling this.....plan is to use it as my daily and be able to drive it hard and not worry about breaking anything, and can leave my VS as my weekend car and will have a chance to do bigger things to it whilst I dont need to drive it everyday.

Going to clean the VR up as a best as possible and give it back SOME dignity haha...used to be real nice back in the day, but still its not bad for $500.

Needs a bit of TLC, but after what you've done with the Equipe, I reckon this will come up mint

yes mate it literally has been through a hell of a lot, but the reconditioned motor and box helps they are both the best parts of the car. yeah just plan to clean it up, get some bits off it for my VS (already taken the calais roof light) and a few other things, and just have fun with it at the same time. haha. and then probably sell it off in better condition and maybe make some $$$ if im lucky.

Yeah same with me mate, I bought an Ecotec for $50, was running really tight (sold as a siezed motor, but crank turned really tightly, so still ran - not surprising it didn't turn well as the oil was like glue) so I'm making basically like 900% profit on it!

Keep it all updated brother!!! don't neglect the equipe though because that thing is absolute sex!!!! if only you lived in Melbourne, photoshoot ftw!!!

nice work man $50 for an ecotec! cheering! haha. yeah if we lived closer we could get some photos for sure

nah im not neglectting the VS, going to wash it today ...in the past week ive only driven it 3 times, but its good though because I am keeping wear and tear and km's off it ...and i appreciate it a hell of a lot more for what it is as the condition of the VR is nothing close to it lol...

going out to do some stuff to it today, will post pics ....

SOLD the VR this morning at 4am for a $1000.

the last week with the VR has been hell...lost the key, had to pay for a new one... (my fault though) so cant really blame the car,

then wednesday arvo i was driving to work and the screw going through the Y piece (the original clip was broken) that holds the clutch cable to the top of the pedal (hard to explain it properly) snapped...leaving me without a clutch...so i parked it...lucky was close to work and walked there. came back at 11pm that night and in the pitch dark tried endlessly to get a screw back in there...but for anyone who has done anything of the sort knows its a fiddly arse job and i had no proper tools...so ended up starting it with it in first and bunny hopped it to a start....got it into second without the clutch and drove it home...

then last night we took the whole brake and clutch pedal housing out and re bolted the broken bits and all was sweet, went to drive it home at 11pm after starting at 6 and it went again...limped it back to my mates work shop and we pulled the whole clutch cable out and ended up welding the screw in place so it shouldnt come out again....

the clutch was a hell of a lot better to use, and i had learnt alot from pulling all the parts apart...but the whole thing turned me off the car for good ...its not reliable enough for a daily i dont know what will go next(probably nothing as everything else runs good but dont wanna take the risk again working late nights...) so i sold it to a guy that wanted it that night, and he ended up taking it off my hands when we finished at the shed...at 4am lol...

sold the caprice rear seat and replaced with an exec one...kept the 3 calais door trims if anybody is interested..
