New car new project! not that i have ever finished previous projects.
A bit of history first... my previous cars
My first VS
My VZ (Currently my family Car)
My VS Lexcen (Just sold it)
And now onto the VR!
Picked up my VR a few weeks ago for $550 with a blown motor, worn gearbox and 360,000 on the clock, exterior is in fair condition, faded paint, 1 bung gaurd but overall not bad. Interior was in mint condition which is a bonus.
I got the car home and ripped out the engine and box, managed to get a free engine and box from a VR wagon off a mate and dropped it in last week.
Needed new exhaust and springs (picking them up tomorrow) and should be good for rego, blue slip is booked for tomorrow.
So onto the pics!
This is how it was when i picked it up
Heres the doner car
New engine in, Fixing rear springs (some chopped them)
So thats the new beast...
Plans? well im taking a new approach.. first of al im going to restore the exterior, replace bent gaurd, fix small dents, respray bars and skirts then look for some 17" mags, might keep it cheap and get some SS rims off a VU or VX.
Basically the aim here is to have a clean looking smooth running car, then im going to work on the engine. Ive kept the old engine and ill be rebuilding it from the sump up with an ACL rebuild kit and a new cam, port/polish heads etc but thats a long way down the track.
Well thats where im at, ill post some better pics after i get rego and give it a nice cut and polish.
looks good mate a nice clean vr s pack for bugger all. well done
stop droolin
I agree mate well done, thats a good find for the price. pitty to see someone chopped up your fe2 springs though.
Good luck with the project!
