Name: Nathan
Model: 1994 VR Executive 5 Speed
Colour: maroon
Odometer: 296,000 (although the odometer hasnt worked at all since I bought it)
Engine Type: 3.8 buick v6
Engine Mods: none
Exhaust: standard I'm pretty sure
Gearbox: 5 Speed Manual (T5? not sure)
Diff: Stock?
Brakes: ABS but the ABS has also not worked since I bought it...Something to have checked out, but the brakes still work really good
Suspension: Stock I think
Wheels/Tyres: I think they are 16's but look like S-PAC Hub Caps?
Interior: Stock - Painted red in some parts
Sound System: An Old Kenwood
Other Mods: None
Well basically the car is completely stock (except for the red paint on the interior). I've had it since April this year and haven't had a problem so far :-) its going in for a service soon. I'm not exactly too sure what kind of brakes/gearbox/diff I have as I haven't really looked into it. I'm still learning about cars myself. Sadly the car was Keyed on the Drivers side and along the boot while I was away in QLD.
This is my 2nd VR as my first one died a week after I bought it and the whole car was basically a dud.
Future mods: Re-spray, Better sound system, 17" chromies. Thats all I can think of for now, but will all be done once I'm financial enough.
Anyway here are pics. They are a bit outdated now as I'm now on my greens.
Stock Tail-Lights & Boot Lights before being replaced (Were faded pretty bad...pretty much defectable)

nice car mate can wait to see what ya do with it
SKIDS FOR KIDS... IM A KID AND I WANNA SEE A SKID
are ya gunna get the bonnet re-painted? the look of it just niggles at me. but the rest looks damn good!
Already thinking of what to do to it when I have the cash to:
de-badge
changing the dash, stereo & gearbox surrounds back to black (over the red)
new sound system
respray (either to the colour that it is now or black)
new seat in the front passanger side (as the one in there now is a bit dodgy)
changing the leds to blue? not sure
Can't think of anything else to do to it besides those things. Most of it may have to be done by a professional but I would love to learn to do it myself (still learning about cars and haven't really done any work to them myself personally before).
The masking tape to hold the red P-plate on the back is now gone. Now got P-Plate holders. Also now on my green's.
i've have a few suggestions for the old girl, chuck on a set of interceptors, take off the spoiler and tow bar and get it lowered. 2 of those are possibly the cheapest mods out there lol.
debadging it will cost you nothing. th only thing that will cost you is a little bit of ya time
Last Thursday wasn't a good day for me at all. I wasn't feeling well and to top it off I reversed into another car!
I was dropping my brother off to work. As he works in one of the stores in a shopping mall, I parked in the car park. I didn't park the car straight, so I go to straighten it up. My brother and I both checked to see if there was anything behind us or for anyone reversing/going into a park. We saw nothing. So I started to reverse slowly and I hear this loud bang. Yep, I reversed into a mid 2000's Holden Astra.
The people in the Astra were good about it. They also were reversing and didn't see me. So we were both in the wrong. The only damage they had was the tail light. We exchanged details and they went on their way.
Anyway so the damage to my car is: Broken left tail-light (Which I only just replaced 2 months ago!!!), slight panel damage and a broken bumper.
As you can imagine, I was pretty devastated about it. First accident I've ever had since I've started driving in 2006.
At that time, the bumper wasn't touching the ground at all so I thought it would be safe to drive home, but be very careful about it. So I'm driving home and I start hearing a scraping noise. I pulled over and got out of the car and the bumper had bent onto the road and was scraping along the road.
Now with this picture it was taken after I lifted the bumper off the ground. So before hand, the whole thing was dragging along the road.
Anyway while I was there I rang my insurer to start the claim process and long story short my excess would total up to $1000 if I was found at fault. Meanwhile I get a text message from the driver in the astra telling me not to worry about the damage to his car he will fix it. So I cancelled the claim after that. 2 Hours past and my mother was driving home and saw my car and pulled over. She ran to the nearest place and got me some gaffa tape. Taped the bumper up and made it home.
Moral of the story: Bad time for stuff like this to happen, especially with Rego coming up in less than 2 months! Doesn't matter how aware you are or how cautious you are, These accidents do happen. I'm just glad that the bumper and tail-light are replaceable.
So now I'm on the hunt for a newish/2nd hand bumper and a new tail light![]()
that makes a great excuse to put in calais/berlina lights in!!!
On the side of the bumper it clips to side panel and one or two screws in the wheel arch. by clipping it back on you could of prevented further damage.
Just a small update: Haven't replaced the bumper and tail light yet. Still driving the car around with the bumper stuck on by gaffa tapeShould hopefully be all fixed within a couple of weeks as rego is due on the end of december.
Thinking about changing the gear center console and dash console back to black. I'm a bit over the red and I didn't mind it when it was black in the first place.
Also just found out the roof has started sagging in the back, need a new headliner...$230!!!![]()
Update:
The bumper has now been replaced, but it's white. Got another tail-light for it but I'm yet to put it on. Anyway so that part is all done and it should not affect rego...BUT... now another thing has come up that needs replacing (especially for rego)...yep...the Windscreen!
2 days ago, I was driving the car and driving home, I noticed a 30cm crack in my Windscreen. I have no idea how it got there in the first place, nothing even hit my windscreen and it definitely wasn't there when I first got into the car that day. Then yesterday, I walk out to my car and noticed the crack has gotten longer! So now its half way down the windscreen.
Edit: Going out in half n' hour to pick mum up from work, Haven't looked at my car today yet but I'm hoping the crack hasn't expanded yet again. Argh everything always goes wrong when its rego time...
UPDATE:
Heres a picture of the car with the white bumper:
Also had both front and back windscreens replaced. Just re-registered it for another 12 months :-)
Got the car up for sale now as I want to upgrade and want to move over to an automatic. Going to have the car detailed and hopefully have the bumper re-sprayed.
Thinking about replacing the red parts of the dash back to the standard black too. Not a big fan of the red anymore.
