94 Red VR Ute 5 Litre 5 Speed (Soon to be Blown)

Yer the car is getting there........ fired it up for the 1st time in 6 months after some hard searching for a plug for the dizzy, thanks to my misses she done alot of ringing around and managed to find a guy in QLD that had the oval plug i needed.

So I got him to send it i received it on Thursday wired it up to my loom plugged it in and then it was ready to be turned ova......... It was turning ova but it was like it was out in the timing or the leads were wrong....... check the leads and sure enough they were on the wrong way, went to the battery and noticed it was stinking hot......... found that the earth cable to the – terminal and to the body was loose tightened that up and that fixed that problem........ now it was all good to try and start it.......

Turned the key and ####ing broom................ she started 1st go , runs abit rough only coz it got a stock comp in it and i didn’t have the charger on as I’m getting it ready for a RWC but i was stoked that she fired up and runs on the 1st turn of the key.

But after running it i could here like the top of the motor wasn’t getting any oil....... (alot of ticking) so got on to the net and did a bit of searching that night found out that the oil pump on V8’s all need to be primed manually so the next morning i get out in the shed made a funnel out of a paint container from a gun, a hose and a air line fitting. (See Pic) filled the oil pump up from the oils switch hole till it was ova flowing then i put the oil switch back in started the car back and it had oil pressure and the tick had started to go.......... big relief after that. lol

yer it will be, once it warmed up abit i gave it 1 almighty rev and the throttle response is unreal man............ this is a beast compared to my other 5 litres iv owned...... real lumpy car which i like........ im just in love with it even more lol

Yer m on my P's lol but got my licence before the new bullshit rules came in to play........ so im all good, not alloud to drive it with a charger but who cars........ :P

geez been a while since iv updated the beasts thread, well Car is just about done, running like a dream, to sum it up in a few words how it goes, "it fkn rips hard", 1st pfft no point, but love's 2nd and 3rd, haven't yet got the charger on yet, that will be going on when iv got it rego'ed in the next 2-3 weeks hoping, depends on the $$$

Oh yer i do enjoy it that's for sure, skating in 3rd is always fun Got it back with the exhaust fixed, sound like a real V8 now
