top work man! where do you find the room, money and time to do these cars for every one lol? have you built a car for your self yet? or is that what the silver ones for?
I'm a landscaper during the day and of a night time I dabble with cars, when I was young I drove a bucket of puss while all my mates drove clean cars and I'm in a position where I can afford to do these cars up and give them to my kids (gives me a buzz to see them fanging around in good looking cars too)
The front looks good when all the cars are parked out there.
I'm into 4wd's and my daily is a lifted Hilux Surf with a modded 5ltr Holden V8 for motivation.
The Silver Berlina is going to be cleaned up with a two tone paint job, a decent exhaust and a change to Calais interior.
I was going to keep it as a spare car but it looks like a mate of my son has snapped it up, he said he would pay a nice amount if I did all the work I planned too so over Xmas Ill get stuck into it.
ohhh mate want to hire to to do all this for you? so much fun haha

I've only got 2 kids but I seem to have a lot of their mates that come over and play in the shed with there cars and they all say the same thing.
Hmmm I've put the struts & SL fronts in (tire sits just above the guard) but when we put the rear springs in it's raised it more than the standard springs.... the springs have SSL on them but they are higher than the stockies.
So for now it's got a massive high bum (looks weird) and I'll swap them over on Tuesday.
I'll put a pic up when it's sitting nice.
I gotta say the Calais is working a treat in this heat, the Daughter came home from work this arvo and the car ran perfect with the inside temp on 20degs (gotta love the climate control set up these cars have).
Righto I've the SSL's in the rear now
Apparently the springs will settle down 5-10mm so it will better when it does, it's still running the original rubber dampeners top & bottom on the springs so I might get some thinner rubber to lower it a tad more (will see how it looks in a week).
Nice looking calais!![]()
this is what i done to replace the rubber spring insulators when i put ssl`s in the rear of mine. and yes they will settle down a bit too
i just got a thin peice of rubber and cut around the old spring insulator and a peice of sticky foam tape to put aroung the inside of the top of the spring ( you might see a bit of it sticking down under the top coil in the pic)
and should sit like this once sprigs settle
hoped that helped in some way
Ah thats brilliant vscalaishsv I'll do that on the weekend![]()
it might look doggie but it works
Dude I might do that too lol, my car looks high and its got SSL height springs in the back too. But got more important things to worry about such as pulling the dash out and replacing all wiring![]()
