Update:
Well turns out my shiny new rocker covers won't fit, waiting to hear back from ZZP about them. If I can't return them then anyone with an Ecotec or L67 can buy them off me lol. My billet oil cap arrived and also turns out it would only fit an Ecotec oil cap, so I sourced one from the wreckers and cleaned it up, it's now on and looks pretty good. Bought some new rocker cover gaskets and valve stem seals, and also some plastic primer and gloss black paint for my rocker covers. Also cleaned my air filter and measured it so I know which ones will fit, just got a bit confused as the measurements for the SAAS pod's were just of the filter, where Drift ones are the full length of the pod. All the chrome window surrounds are on, bar the rear quarter windows, and it looks pretty sweet. Bought windscreen sealant for the windows and some more Magnatec to change the oil soon. New hazard light switch is in and now I have indicators again. Also talking to Foamy about a tune and waiting for the group buy of Clarko's Billet pulleys to go ahead.

Just gave my sexy 17 year old girl a wash, clay bar and wax. Took a couple of quick pics.
Still sorting out the tune, the local wreckers wouldn't sell the memcal separate and I'm not really prepared to pay $110 for the computer.
Also bought a new toolbox

Update:
Picked up a new oil filter, I really like the Drift ones as they seem to be heavier, have a bigger magnet and have more holes than the K&N ones, plus they are about $5 cheaper. Look pretty cool too.
Also went to the Solar Tinting Centre to get a quote to remove the current tint and re-tint the rearmost side quarter windows (the new ones I have with chrome surrounds) with the same tint as is on my car now, which is apparently about 35% 'Quantum' tint. Impressed with the quality as the tint is probably around 7 years old and they still have a record of it in their system. Prices seem very reasonable too, so hopefully that'll be done soon.
Lastly, I got a quote for a Drift chrome oil catch can, which was about $90, just going to work out where I want to mount it then I'll probably get it. Might write up a how-to as I couldn't find one on here.

Update:
This arvo we fitted the MoMo wheel, and striped the manifold and rockers off the car, started to clean and polish some stuff and fitted the new valve stem seals. Injectors were screwed, 1 odd spark plug...I wonder who did that, was either the compression test or when the extractors were fitted. Will post more info and pics soon.
Update:
Finished off the car tonight. Did some painting and polishing. It's so much smoother now, and all the MACE gear certainly give it some more power, too. The throttle body does seem to have made the auto shift slightly earlier, but with the PWR button on it's pretty much normal. Might have to do until it's tuned. Didn't have time to fit the servo, but everything else is done. With the boss kit we had to fit the earth into a hole, then we held it in place with some silicon, as there was no proper plug. Also you can see the rocker covers were never going to fit..so yeah..someone buy them please lol $200 and I'm happy enough. HUGE thanks to Pete for doing most of the work

mighty clean engine bay there! mines still fcucked up dirty haha
Haha I haven't cleaned it in ages, apart from a bit of the firewall that was easier to get to when the manifold was off. Whole car needs a good clean lol, but I might hold off a few days since I'm gonna put the new carpet in on Thursday (hopefully). But your car will shit all over mine once it's resprayed lolmighty clean engine bay there! mines still fcucked up dirty haha
with some luck! haha you should hunt down some leather before you change the carpet, because you'll only want to take the seats out once. hahaha
You running the larger throttlebody on the stock memcal? Thought the car is pretty much undriveable when you do that?
And how's the car go with the new high ratio rockers?
Yeah mate, standard memcal but I have a Foamy one on the way. The throttle body did play with the shift points, but with the PWR button always on it's pretty much normal. Between the rockers and everything else we did, it's a pretty different car to drive. Feels a lot more powerful and revvs much easier. I'd say it's definately a worthwile mod if you have the money. You running the larger throttlebody on the stock memcal? Thought the car is pretty much undriveable when you do that?

Hmm even more than coulsons? I wonder. I think they look better suited to the interior of a VR then coulsons anyway. I want to be hugged whilst driving and the side bolstering looks like it will do that lol.yes, i hear that their the most comfortable seats....IN THE WORLD! haha
Also, unrelated but to save a double post, an update on the new MACE gear:
I'm getting used to the changed feel of the car now, it's pretty different, much smoother and more powerful. Yes the shift points are different but it's really not a problem. There is a slight *tick tick tick* sound, but only just, and apparently this is normal, but usually inaudible. Steve from MACE has the best customer service I've ever experienced, from any company, not just an automotive one, and I can thoroughly recommended them and their products, as I now have a MACE CAI, thermostat, rockers, and throttle body. TBH, wish I did all these mods sooner :P
Update:
This weekend Dad and I fitted the new carpet, which looks awesome, much better than the old stuff.
We also picked up the rear quarter windows from The Solar Tinting Centre, who removed the old tint and re-tinted them in their premium (can't remember what it's called lol) tint for $20 per window. They still had my car on record from when the windows were tinted, which apparently was 12 years ago haha. Obviously decent quality tint to last that long and have no problems.
We fitted the new windows and that's about all we had time for this arvo, looking much more complete though. Didn't have any problems except that one of the windows was missing a bolt, luckily it was in the middle though so it should be ok.
I'll post some pics soon.
Just had a read through your thread, nice looking car mate, keep up the good work. Whats next??

I need some statesman/ calais woodgrain for drivers side panel!!
Thanks mate, you do too.Just had a read through your thread, nice looking car mate, keep up the good work. Whats next??
I'm not really sure what's next tbh lol. I feel like I've gone as far as I want with this motor. Just have to fit my corvette servo, fix the exhaust rattle, install an oil catch can, sort an LSD diff with 3.45's and get Foamy to finish my tune. Then the plan is to buy a 5ltr block and strip it, then have it fully rebuilt with some goodies and put it in with a rebuilt and strengthened 4L60E. Hopefully will smooth and repaint the bay while the motor's out, with a full respray in the same green later on. But that's all a while off yet, for now I'm just gonna drive it![]()
just thinking you should have dug around for some of the berlina/calais quarter windows, im guessing thats why the trimming on thems not chrome hahah

The build is coming along quite nicelynah would be a big change as I usually drive rather slowly. My Nan literally drives faster than me lol. Also love my car way to much to put it in danger, but if there's a casual track day at Wakefield then maybe I'll go see what it's like.
But thanks Steve, you've been a great help throughout the entire build mate![]()
