my red hot vr ss

Thought i'd finally post up a my ride thread i have owned this car fro a couple of year when i first got i. it was fully standard 1993 vr ss automatic the biggest mod on it was a aftermarked cassete deck this is what i have done so far.


Odo: 120000
Colour: red
Engine: mild 5 litre changed to manual 5 speed.
Exhaust: gm headers full stainless d@t twin system
Diff: 3.7 diff gears
Electrics: Power Windows, Cruise Control, level 3 dash conversion
Interior: vs grange fully electric leather seats
wheels: 19" hsv wheels
Stereo:
- Pioneer dvd player
- sound stream 6x9s soundstream splits
- sound stream little wonder ampmono block
- pioneer 800w 4 channel amp
- kicker solobaric subwoffer

Suspension: all needs replacing soon ..pedders big bore rear shocks
Exterior:
aftermarket headlights
colour coded handles
deleted aerial and rear boot lock and badge holes spoiler removed

Interior: full vs grange trim including dash vs calais door trims

Engine: cam head work roller rockers bigger throttle body

just b4 the car went in for paint afte rthe car went through a car wash and it destroyed all the paint work................................... wash on grange brushless wash do not use it

yeah i shot through the car wash one night and it was one of those high powered brushless wahes the wash took all the polish of my car and because the car is not clear coated from factory the chemical attacked the paint sucked balls big time cause the whole car to oxidise

Very nice looking VR mate. Looks great after the respray. The shaved antenna and boot lock do look good. I shaved the boot lock on mine but not the antenna when mine was done a few years ago.

red hot is the ticket...really suits the model .......i did mine 6 years ago and the paint has oxidised around the boot area that sees the sun a lot ....if you give the interior a splash of red somewhere it sets it off too...i did the l3 cluster and red gauge faces and shifter boot and threw on some seat covers with a bit of red in them ...dont destroy the trim with any vinyl paint and fix the brakes to get it to stop properly with some later model parts and it will stay with you for many years

Yeah mate it's all ready hot the by brake upgrade next mod will be a set of brakes that fill the wheels nothing werse than big wheels with standard Holden brakes

Man I want my red VR paintwork to look like that. God that looks hot. How much did that set you back $$$ wise? My paintwork is getting really faded on the boot/top and bonnet. Bit of rust to.

I really like the look of the car. I like the chrome rims and the window surrounds.

yeah there was alot of repair work heaps of dent stone chips and the back window had a fair bit of rust the rear quarter had a old repair that was very bad the deeper we went the werse it was not to stresed about the price i paid 1000 for the job that was done so im quite happy lol plus the car was taken down to metal becasue most of it had started bracking.
