I have a few pics of the 355 whilst it was in the build; as you can see i used the H beam Scat kit
Has had mild head work, ls1 valve guides, match porting polishing etc Also in photo below you can see i have used a stud girdle instead of four bolt mains. Also had to have the ASR sump made custom to fit around girdle!
Can see that i have had mild port and polishing as nothing to crazy is needed as dont want to slow the air flow down too much, or will go backwards in power!!

Got a bit bored so me and my panel beater decided to make the rocker covers look trick and give the sump the same treatment!
And once it was all together it looks a little something like this, should go well with the twin throttles and other billet goodies

Because of the increased power i thought a set of ve 330mm brakes was in order for the front, as the little vs brakes just did not cut the mustard! Also when towing etc i was getting huge brake fade.
They also fill up the rims a lot nicer and after some two pack Ferrari red they def look the goods, not to mention it stops on a ten cent piece! Have the standard rear brakes with the DBA Gold series cross drilled slotted rotters for show!

I was orig going to run the trickshift twin throttle manifold. Its a cut and shut job of the stock bananas. I didnt really like the look of a carby style manifold with a 1000cfm throttle on it.
I was lucky enough to score a walkinshaw twin throttle body set up that had the plenum modified as it had twin gas research throttles on it. Came with no throttles or fuel rails so i am in the process of setting up throttles for it.
When i first got it it looked like this
looked a bit tired so had it beed blasted and thought the plenum would look nice polished. Guess it looks ok
Still needs the lower manifold sprayed. Will be the same colour as the rocker covers. Got my self a real walkinshaw throttle body that has been shaved as they are a XF Ford throttle so lots of lumps and bumps on them from deleted vacume lines etc!
Not running the 2nd throttle as an 80mm i would rather run the standard XF throttle. As a 2nd throttle is 80mm and is not needed, not to mention the inlet in the plenum is only 70mm as was modified!
From this messy looking throttle to this!
As you can see it has been dye grinded and ground, now just have to weld up holes without warping throttle bodyStill need to fab up linkages to operate 2nd throttle

She doesn't look like a Group A Manifold, The bottom runners are different an the front has elongated holes to the right of the thermostat housing an the front of the housing is a different shape.
Curious what manifold it is tho...
Apart from that, Nice ute![]()

the one at top of pic is my manifold (vl walky) and the top one in GRP A manifold. Grp A plenum sits flat but vl sits on an angle!!!
If u take plenum off they come thru at different lengths as u can see in photo! Also thermostat housing is in different position on grp a as it's offset to the left.

MUNCH MUNCH LS1 4 LUNCH
Maybe but considering i got the manifold for under two grand i thinki did okNot to mention it was modified to work better with a stroker as it was designed to work with a 5l. So in theory plenum should be larger for stroker!!!
Could be worse....could have standard bananas

Also got my self an alluminium radiator, trans cooler and twin au thermo fans running off a Davies Craig thermo switch that runs in the top radiator hose.
Fitting of all of the above did not take too long at all, think about a day and a half as was real fussy with how the au thermo fans fitted to the radiator. Made it look like its meant to be!!! Got enzed to come out and change my oil lines as they had the threaded type that screwed on to radiator. But as was running trans cooler i needed them extended around to front of bar!
Currently running the ss induction bigmouth cold air intake. But when i change motor will go to the GRP A air box set up!
U can see the davies craig thermo switch mouted in the top radiator hose. U simply set the switch with a little dial that is mounted in engine bay. So u can choose at what temp the fans will click on!

Will you need to modify the bonnet to fit the manifold?
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
Yea the reason plenum was modified was to make it bigger as you want about 1L of air to each L of engine size. The guy ran twin gas varna on a 355 and made 500horse with it! It sits a little taller than the grp a one. A vn def has to have bonnet cut as it's flatter than a Vs bonnet. But on a Vs u can get away with just cutting reo in bonnet. But because it's a little taller than normal may sit thru bonnet
Will also have a grp a bonnet buldge for every day street use

Got a GRP A air box off a guy who gets me lots of gear cheap, as he is a collector. But has cut and changed air outlet to side outlet to suit normal 5l. WHY would u do that considering they are worth 500 on ebay with y piece lol!!
So i will customize it back to look like factory GRP A air intake! I figured it would be better to do it in little steps rather than shape the whole thing at once!
So i did this to get the 90mm pipe facing in the direction i wanted it to go. Now i need to make it funnel from box into 90mm pipe!
I cut the right hand side out with air hack and made the shape i need by using sand paper. As it holds its shape when bent!! Then i fiber glassed over the top. I repeated these steps to make the left side once fiber glass had dried on the right side.
Gave it some shape by sanding and a little bit of bog. Has come up much better than i thought it would, inside is perfect and smooth!
Not sure what colour we will paint it yet. Prob in a style like i did with rocker covers! As it has the raised ss logo on it so will look trick in two diff colours!

Also got a full set of gilmers that even includes a gilmer drive for the aircon, will throw them on the new motor once it is in.
Also got a knock sensor, chip and loom. The hsv 185s had this. Was the only diff between a stock 5l and a 185 5l. I wanted it so that when it goes in i will have a knock sensor just for a bit of added security. Altho some people dont beleive in them i think its worth while. However u cant run with a solid cam as it tends to set them off lol

Hay guys should I get my box built before getting it dyno tuned or save the money and do box once tuned? Or do I need box done to tune properly?
MUNCH MUNCH LS1 4 LUNCH
needs red coil packs
"munch munch munch, old decrepit VT LS1's for lunch"

Yeah I know.
Quick tip, if you want to stir shit. Change LS1 to L67. The drop kicks flappy cap morons on here come howling from miles off.
