    Default stroked and turbo v6 vs ute

    1998 vs ute series 3


    Colour:high gloss black. paint not finished yet , shaved door handles , soft top hooks cut off , radio antenna shaved
    Engine: 4.2l ecotec with a holset 3545 turbo, stage 5 camtec turbo cam, forged bottom end , 50mm blow off valve, 38mm wastegate , front mount , haltech computer
    Transmission: ford c4 Auto full manual shift
    brakes:vt ss front slotted , stock rear
    Exhaust: custom turbo manifold and 3 inch turbo back
    Diff: full spool 3.23
    Electrics: Power Windows,
    Interior: berlina interior and power windows berlina seats..
    sound: jvc deck and rockford splits and a kicker ute sub.
    Wheels:20 inch ve gts in high gloss black
    body mods: ss front bar, berlina chrome trim around window , mini tubbed

    Dude looks the goods pics are a little small! Def more pics mate and info on the build! You on any other forums?
    Make a thread on street commodores a ute like this would really be appreciated on there. Can't believe u had no feed back! Must be great fun to drive! What power u after and have u had it down the strip etc?

    its still being built atm so havent started it yet. and the tubs arnt welded in yet so ill put pics up after there finished. going to run 15psi everyday on the street and if i take it down the strip ill put it up to 20. when i had it naturally aspirated it made 388hp atw with a tune

    Dude not possible! I am a big street commodores man and there is a ten page thread on a guy claiming that! Said he had cam and red coil packs. Everyone ripped him.
    Basically if u spend ten plus gs naturally aspirated u may make 200rwkw if your lucky.
    Mate my 355 with the works and mild cam will only make 240 at the rears lol your saying your na six will make as much as a tuned camed ls1

    the guy i bought it off had dyno slips to prove it. but to be honest i do have my doubts that it was that much even tho i saw the paperwork. but when i drove it around for a few months it did go pretty hard. be interesting to see what it makes when its on the dyno again

    I highly doubt - 99.99% (this is not attacking you) that an N/A Ecotec or V6 for that matter will ever make 388rwhp, no matter how far it is pushed...it just does not have the capacity.

    Sorry mate, but I think the guy you bought it off was showing you a figure of it either with a turbo on, or a completely different car...

    yeah ill have to double check with him cause hes a mate of mine. either way im happy with how it goes. when i get it on the dyno ill see for myself what it truely has

    Yea that's a shit! But to be honest 200rwkw is about the most u will get and that's with twin throttles and the lot! I mean for example a tuned ls1 with cam only makes 270rwkws! Don't need to be an expert to see that the story us a little stretched.
    How does it go against an ls1?
    Either way once u strap the hair dryer on it wil have plenty of go

    N/A that's a big claim but that's not a big claim for a turbo. Alot of built turbo v6s have 400+ at the wheels. go on L67 torque and have a look at the turbo builds, they are making crazy power. One guys got 513RWKW dyno vids and strip videos to prove it

    Alright I think the point has been made about how realistic that power figure is. No need to keep harping on about it.

    Should go well with the turbo kit on it, if you clean up the engine bay, maybe smooth it and repaint it it might have a bit of show car appeal
