Finally managed to take a couple of pics I liked of our VS Berlina.
She's pretty much standard at the moment, and that's the way we'll keep it...standard looking anyway.![]()
It's basically all normal Berlina stuff inside...power windows, cruise, climate, steer, cloth trim, good stereo (without the optional stacker, bugger it... :b: ).
Once the warranty runs out, it will be copping a few subtle mods underneath such as bushes, bars, springs, shocks, but kept at pretty standard ride height...perhaps an inch lower at most if I am talked into it. Nothing to attract attention.
In a moment of weakness (and a good deal in a Bob Jane catalogue...) we purchased the 15" AMG Akuza wheels you see on it now as part of a tyre-and-wheel package...hey, $300 extra for alloys on top of the tyres? You usually can't get decent looking second hand wheels for that. they replaced the original Berlina mags.
Under the hood is standard Ecotec, apart from a K&N filter and new spark plug leads. Probably the most we'll do is fit extractors and a decent but not too loud system...I believe that stable and predictable handling is more important than outright power of a car (and the noise it produces to attract Mr Plod...).
She's no hotrod, but we're damn pleased with it.
looks good, theres no point replacing springs and shocks if your not going to lower it, if you dont want your car too low go with a fe2 or a bit lower ride height.
But as its your car, as long as you like it then thats all that matters!
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
Go sum 18's then lower it, would look much better. Plus didn't the berlina's come out with tinted windows?
That is one of the oldest threads I've seen dug up lol
