i was going to mention that too you but i clean forgot.

my plan is to do the full SII exterior, but the moulds are NLA genuine (except the bits on the front quarters). so gotta get them all from the wreckers etc.

and the wiper problem sounds like it will just be the motor. still available genuine last time I checked.

sorry to maybe wreck your weekend but my car did exactly the same thing and I was hoping is was the wiper motor but theres a 99% chance it ill be the BCM.. i managed to get one from the wreckers cant remember how much it was sorry!!!

Yeah I just realised the other day when I was looking at the bumper bar, now i'm probably going to have to get the full VS Calais Series 2 door moulds as well. I should still be able to use the chrome strips I bought though.

A guy I work with had a similar problem with his wipers, and he replaced the motor and it fixed the problem so hopefully thats all it is.

Thanks mate yeah it should be even better once i'm finished with it haha.

I hope it isn't the BCM, I have 4 keys coded to it, two of them are HSV key heads. But knowing my luck it will be that haha. But ill replace the wiper motor and see if that fixes the problem, if not ill have to look into it more.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to tell people something that happened while driving my VS on the weekend.

First of all, I haven't driven it for a few weeks now, so I decided to take it for a drive.

Anyway, I pulled out of my driveway, got about half a kilometer up the road and a huntsman (spider), almost the size of my hand ran up onto the windscreen.

Now my instant reaction was slamming the brake because I couldn't tell at first whether it was inside or outside of the car. Then I realised it was on the outside of the windscreen and it ran back into the engine bay. I never seen it again after that. Even once I got home and opened the bonnet - slowly.

I was lucky because, if that spider was inside the car, I probably would have pulled over as quick as I could and jumping out of the car.

Don't know why, but I am scared of spiders like that, I don't care what people think, but I know i'm not the only one.

One problem I do have now, is I have no idea where it is and I don't want it inside my car haha.

I guess if I leave the car sitting around for that long, things like that are going to hide in the car somewhere.

spider was luckily on the outside, so I wound up the windows and luckily dad was nearby and was able to flick said spider off. i think he heard my swearing from around 20metres away.

cars coming along sick, ive always wonder what peoples reaction would be if you done a burnout down a busy street with coloured tires, i think people would think its mad especially if they've never seen them, but dont do it haha, it's just a thought

Haha thanks mate I would be interesting to see people's reactions but I wouldn't risk it. Sometimes I fully accelerate when going around a corner which leaves a cloud of red smoke behind me but I'm not sure if anyone has seen it yet.

There seems to be heaps of mozzies around where I live. It's annoying when i'm trying to get work done after work haha.

Yeah I can't wait to drive it legally. I have been driving it now and then just to give it a run but haven't gone too far with it. I might be taking it to a panel beater soon to get the new front bumper bar fitted, but ill be getting the Statesman done first. I might call them up tomorrow and book it in.

I didn't have my licence on me (as I was just going around the block and I forgot it). I wasn't going to take it out this weekend but my cousin came to visit and he wanted me to take him for a drive in it.

Oh well, it was my own fault as I accelerated hard a couple of times, and thats why he pulled me over.

Thats the bad news, now for the good news...

The police officer was good, he just gave me a warning as I haven't lost any points and have never been fined before. He just told me to take it easy and drive more carefully. He said that because i'm on P-Plates that I have to have my licence with me when driving at all times but he didn't give me a fine for that either.

As soon as I seen the flashing lights behind me, my thoughts were... Oh s#!t I don't have my licence on me and i'm driving a probationary prohibited vehicle... He could see that it was a clean car and that I looked after it so I think thats a reason he let me go.

Yeah I know. And I forgot to add that he ask to have a look at the engine bay (luckly), and he didn't look at the rego sticker, not that it mattered because it still has the old engine number on it anyway.

To reply from the spider story, had 2 come of the engine I have on a stand. A small 10c piece one and a huntsman.. I dont think they enjoy a degreaser bath..

Yeah I know I was lucky and believe me, I have learn't my lesson. It could have been a lot worse.

I was thinking of spraying degreaser in the engine bay and washing it off but I just left it. When I drove the car yesterday I didn't see it again so hopefully it gone now. I hope so anyway haha.

Yeah he was good. Thats why people shouldn't call them "pigs", most of the police are good and if your not a smartarse and be honest with them, they will go easy on you. I have taken his advice and I am watching my speed and driving carefully. Like he said, with green P's, you only get 5 points. Most of the fines you lose 3 points, so it doesn't take much and you could lose your licence. I'm not going to risk it anymore, driving is the only freedom I have when i'm by myself. I'll still take the VS for a drive every now and then (more while the engine is still under warranty), but i'm not going to drive like a tool haha.
