Thought I might put up pics of the 18" spare rim in the boot, fits perfect.
The subs that are in the boot in the pics are no longer in there. I didn't like the sound of them, now I got an Alpine Type R 1500W sub.

UPDATE: This is an update on the supercharged V6 engine. I managed to track down a engine wiring loom off a VS Supercharged V6, so I don't have to worry about modifying my engine loom. I was going to get the ecu as well but the wiring loom cost way more than I expected so I didn't get the ecu this time around. Also, with the engine itself, i'm no longer getting the heads reconditioned. Instead, i'm buying a fully reconditioned L67 long motor (its a change over so I have to give them my old one). So everything is going to be new (new pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, valves, valve springs, and absolutely everything else will be new internally). I'll upload pics of everything once I have it. Wiring loom is getting sent to me on Monday so I should get it Tuesday or Wednesday.
Anyway, all of this is going to make life easier.
Reason I decided to get the reconditioned engine is because a customer brought his VR Calais to work (on a tow truck) because the engine was seized... he let it run out of oil and kept driving it... he also brought an engine that he got from a wreckers. I done the engine swap (took 3 days total), once the replacement engine was it, I started it up, it wasn't even at operating temperature yet and it stalled. Then it wouldn't turn over anymore. Turned out that the engine seized as well. So now I have to take everything off again and the owner is bringing in another engine (he got it from the same place as the other one) on Tuesday that i'm going to fit. Lets hope this one doesn't seize as well.

The reconditioned L67 should be good, plenty of life in it. Any luck with the Calais front bar?
Yeah you're right, with the reconditioned L67, I wont have to worry about whether it was thrashed, or if theres any problems with it like there could possibly be with the second hand motor I bought. Today I pulled the Supercharger and inlet manifold off my engine and a few other things and I might get my boss to order the reconditioned engine on Monday.
As for the Calais front bumper bar, I have had no luck yet. I have been looking around and haven't really seen any. Although the place that sold me the L67 engine had one there that I even had a look at, but it was in really bad condition, dad and I decided it was probably going to cost too much to repair it (if it even was repairable). Here is the link to it - SERIES 2 VS CALAIS FRONT BUMPER BAR - BLUE - B093 | eBay

Everything on the engine is unbolted (except for the oil pump, heads and rocker covers because the reconditioned engine comes with them). But I can't get the harmonic balancer off. I need to remove it and get the crank angle sensor and plastic cover off. I have tried my air impact but it wont move it. I put 2 bolts in the crankshaft, locked it up with a crow bar while my dad used a socket, breaker bar and another massive bar to undo it, but we ended up snapping both bolts in the crankshaft. Looks like I might need to borrow some tools from work, like maybe there 3/4 impact and the pulley remover.

Found some pics, so I thought I would upload them. Sorry if the quality isn't very good, can't even remember when I took these pics.

UPDATE: Received my VS L67 wiring loom today. Everything looks alright with it so ill be selling my VY Supercharged V6 wiring loom and ECU but only once my engine is in and running. Hopefully ill be ordering the reconditioned L67 long motor tomorrow, but there will be another update for that.

This isn't an update. This morning when I started the engine, the exhaust sounded much louder then usual. There isn't an exhaust leak, but I think the cat has burn't out. Now when I drive it, it sounds like theres no muffler lol. Also, the supercharged V6 engine isn't even in it yet, and today I went to overtake a truck, when it dropped down a gear when I accelerated fully, the rear wheels started to spin for about 5-10 metres. I was shocked. But then again, the road was slightly wet because it rained for a couple of minutes about 30mins before that happened.
UPDATE: I have been offered a brand new genuine inlet manifold off a VS L67. I can get it for $598+GST and it is worth $645+GST. Don't know if I should get it or not, thats a fair bit off cash. Not sure it will fit on a VY L67....
Might take some pics of the car this weekend (depending on the weather) then upload them. I got a better quality camera now.

Good looking ride man, and that stereo must hit hard! Well done.

http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...ure-heavy.html
Thanks mateYeah the stereo is awesome, I had to install the dynamat because it was making the doors rattle really bad haha. The stereo system that was in it before (I put in when I first bought the car), just didn't really sound good to me anymore, especially after I bought a new system for my Statesman. Then a guy at JB Hi Fi gave me the 2011 Alpine system solutions book, and I found a complete system (except wiring) for $2696 (usually worth $3596), so I decided to get it and it was definitely worth every cent! I'll have to get more pics of the stereo system (speakers, sub, amps, headunit) just haven't had a chance yet.

UPDATE: Ordered my reconditioned L67 motor today, should get it Monday. I also ordered the brand new inlet manifold from Holden. It's already going to have a place for 2 temp sensors so I don't have to drill any holes.
Ill start putting up prices so anyone (including myself) can keep track of how much this is going to cost.
Second hand VY Supercharged V6 engine with Transmission and all bolt ons - $2600
Second hand wiring loom off a VS Supercharged V6 engine - $470
Gasket for plate on rear of inlet manifold (Genuine) - $18.94
Total so far - $3088.94
As I get the parts, I will add them to the list. Watch how fast the total rises one I get the inlet manifold and reconditioned engine.....

nice build mate, ive been looking into the L67 engines for a little while now, and i was wondering(even though you've probly explained it somewhere) but why did you buy two differnt engines?and did you ever consider finding mabey a written of vs with the engine intact and buying the whole thing and taking what you need then selling the rest?im not hating on your work im just curious, keep up the work mate
nice colour and wheels suit very well .
Hi mate, thanks for the comment. For a while I was looking around for a written off VS Calais/Statesman with a Supercharged V6, but it was pretty hard to find one. With the second hand engine I bought, I had plans to change all the gaskets, get the heads reconditioned, and change other things like the water pump, idler pulleys, harmonic balancer, etc. But when I worked everything out, it was going to be cheaper to get an engine that has already been fully reconditioned. Other thing is, the place where I bought the reconditioned engine for wants a change over engine (the same one as they give you), and if you don't give them a change over engine, then they charge you a massive fee. Example, my reco engine cost $2400, but if I didn't give them my old L67 engine, they would charge me $4290. They wont accept N/A ecotec V6's as a swap.
In the end, it's still going to cost a lot of money to do what I want to do, but it's going to be worth it. I just got a quote today for all the parts I need and it came up to $1670 (the injectors alone cost $650 for 6), and i'm getting iridium spark plugs which are $100. 6 idler pulleys are around $25 each. Then theres everything else like the crank angle sensor, 2 temp sensors, spark plug leads, water pump, harmonic balancer, fuel pump, fuel filter, transmission filter kit, radiator/heater hose kit, serpentine belts, PCV Valve, heater tap, engine mounts, oil pressure switch, extractor gaskets.... theres probably more, I can't remember right now.
I also ordered (from Holden), Thermostat, thermostat gasket, torque converter bolts x3 ($11 each), flywheel bolts, supercharger oil. Just that invoice was $165.
Anyway, I hope all that makes sense haha.

yeah mate i understand thanks for giving me such a detailed response, and it sounds like your doing everything properly which is good, because once its in hopefully you wont have to much trouble with it, where as if you just did a straight swap from a written of vs calais or something there might have been some issues, cant wait to see it all together
Yeah i'm pretty much changing everything so hopefully once its in the car, I can just enjoy driving it with no problems. I didn't want to put the engine in and then have problems with the thermostat (because its at the back of the engine), or even internal problems with the engine. I don't know what kind of a life the second hand engine I bought had, but I know that the reconditioned engine has had everything internally replaced and it even has a brand new sump and timing cover as well.
The way I see it, theres no point stuffing around with it. I may as well just replace everything while it's out of the car (and everything is easier to get too), then I know whats been done and wont have to worry about it.

May as well put up some pics of the new engine.
The orange rocker covers are not mine, the place that rebuilts the engine paints them orange so you know that they are damaged and are for transporting the engine only.
