Default DUB’s 1993 VR Executive - My First Car

I did have a thread previously but there is so much more I would like to add about this car now. I bought her roughly 4 years ago for $500 with 3 months reg. It had just over 200,000k’s on it when I got it. The person who owned it was a pig, and it was disgusting inside.

It was completely stock when I got it, and had no head unit, speakers or anything at all. Since I got it I have:

    - Custom Respray
    - Debadged
    - VX S Pack Seats
    - VS Calais Chrome Window Surrounds
    - Clear Tail lights
    - Clear Indicators
    - Ultra low springs in rear
    - Took rubber from around body off
    - Custom Roof lining

Coming Soon – I have a lot of this stuff, just haven’t gotten around to installing it. Will be in before next week.

    - New Carpet
    - Venetians (Maybe – Thoughts?)
    - VYSS Wheels – Pick up this weekend
    - Blue Parkers
    - Pacey Extractors
    - Boss Kit
    - JVC Head unit
    - Blaupunkt 10” sub – will be getting more, but this one is for inside the car.
    - LED Tail Light globes – Mine shine pink through the tail lights they are horrible.
    - Power Windows
    - Calais Interior Light
    - 2 1/2" Exhaust

In the next month I also hope to get

    - Level 3 Dash Cluster
    - Shave the Centre Console so no lighter/ashtray
    - VS Calais Grill
    - VS Calais Door Trims
    - Stage 2 Shift Kit, Corvette Servo
    - Front Super Low Springs

Will add pictures soon, just trying to get them all in order. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them.

Nice car buddy, its come along way.

did you remove the strips on the side by yourself, and if so did it take off any paint?

were the VX seats a exact fit or did you need to modify them abit?

    cheers

Hey mate, I gave removing them myself a go but it was no good. Got a mate who was a panel beater to do it, they use a thing called a caramel wheel I think it is? If you want to get them off I'd suggest picking up one of them to give it a go.

With the VX seats they werent an exact fit but didnt need a lot of modification. There is a few different ways to do it, but what I did was take all the seats out of my car, remove the seat rails from the front seats and put the VS rails on the VX seat. If you do it this way you lose the VX electrics but it just all pretty much bolts back on.

With the back seat I fitted the centre piece that folds down first so I knew where everything had to line up and then put the back sides in. They bolt up to the original holes but you have to cut some foam from further up on the VX seat backs so they will clip in to the thing that holds them to the car. The middle part of the vx seat does not lock into place, but the seats are in there tightly and it would only come down if you made it. With the back bottom just break the plastic clips of the bottom of the VX seat, bend the wire loops so that they can clip into the brackets in the car.

I hope that made sense. I was in a hurry but could write something more in depth later if you want.
