VR Calais Project

Hi Everyone I have owned my calais for about 7 years now and has been parked up for the last 3 years as a on and off again project. I have decided pull it off the road for good and build a basic track car with it.

At the moment the car is a v6 turbo
tilton flywheel and twin plate clutch
5 speed
with 3.7 lsd
All the suspension and bushes are new (will prob change to suit anyways)

This week im just stripping out the inside and pulling the gearbox out to start setting up for a hydrulic clutch with an interal slave clyinder

Once thats sorted i will start on the engine im going to ditch the turbo set up and go back to a 6 throttle body n/a set up.
Then I will start on the handling side of thing.

looks good man, whats the 6 throttle manifold worth? and where from? i noticed you got some bmw wheels on it, looks good

The manifold come with the engine i brought awhile ago came straight out of a improved production race car it was custom made for it
From what some shops have told me it would have cost a few thousand to make.
The rims come off my father inlaws bmw for some reason i really like them and when he got new wheels i got them off him, i should relly get rid if the bmw badges on them.

I pulled the gearbox out today just waiting on some parts start setting up the hydraulic clutch.
Going to pull out my abs and brake booster tomorrow and start setting up the tilton floor mount peddle box.

looks like a good project, are you going to put a cage in it ?

Cheers mate yeah i will be running a rollcage in the class im should be running in I dont need one but if the is one fitted it has to be to CAMS spec.
Iv got all the right steel to do it just got to get a spare full day to to do it.

Im going to set up my internal clutch slave cylinder tomorrow iv got my bracket laser cut and ready to weld on i will post up some pics of it tomorrow

Na sorry no updates been really busy the last couple of months and now I'm traveling round Europe will be back home soon and have a few weeks off work still so I'll get stuck back in to it
