Default danny.b's P-plater BBQ Mobile - VS Acclaim

Hey all, names Danny. From Maffra, Victoria. This is my '95 VS Acclaim.

Picked it up about a month ago for $2200, with 12 months rego and no RWC. Not long after, lost my job, and have spent basically all of my 'savings' on getting this thing roadworthy, aswell as becoming abit nicer in the process.

    '95 VS Acclaim

    Odo: 208, XXX
    Colour: Green. (Sherwood green?)
    Engine: 3.8Ltr Ecotec, dual fuel
    Transmission: 4sp Auto
    Exhaust: Stock
    Diff: Stock IRS
Electrics: 3/4 Power Windows, Cruise Control, Dual Air-Bags
Interior: VP Calais seats, White LED cluster with red needles, Calais roof mounted light
    Wheels: VR Berlina minus centrecaps
    Stereo:
    - Pioneer head unit
    - Fusion 6x9's in parcel shelf
    - Fusion 6 inchers in doors (yet to be installed)

    Suspension: Stock
Exterior: Clear side indicators, debadged other than lions front & rear
    Engine: Stock

    Future/Planned mods

    - Align front bumper
    - Gloss black stockies (satin black DONE)
    - Gloss black window surrounds and mirror bases
    - Colour code door handles
    - Re-trim roof lining.
    - Go back to stock cluster needles
    - Carpeted kick panels (DONE)
    - Paint bumper inserts and side strips red
    - New/uncracked 'rear garnish'
    - Superlows rear (purchased, need installing)
    - Lows front
    - 2.5 inch exhaust
    - Professional detail
    - Possible boot respray
    - CAI if I can be bothered relocating gas stuff in engine bay

I'll let the pictures do the talking, but it's not the mintest VS you've ever seen. But it's a first car, so ya know? Mobile phone pictures do it justice. It's in desperate need of a wash, as you can tell by the pictures.

    Sick bumper fitment, yo.

Well that's about it really. Nothing all that special, but it's a work-in-progress. Hopefully things pick up when cash flow is existent,

    Cheers,

Picked these bad boys up from the post-office just earlier..

Carpeted kick panels from a Calais/Statesman. Good replacement for the ones in there currently which are scratched to all buggery.

Mini/useless update. Not much has happened with this, barely even been driven. No shed and Victorias weather FTL!

On the plus side, these came in the mail today. Picked them up from eBay for next to nothing. Should look good once the bumper and trolley strips are painted red..

Sweet eff all has been happening with this thing lately. Too busy studying, and having a major case of the CBF's.

BUT, I have sprayed a set of stockies satin black, and added chrome trim rings. Two still need tyres, so it's just a matter of going to the tyre joint and getting the ones currently on the front swapped over. Hopefully that'll happen in the next week, or so.

When I swap over the wheels, I figure I may aswell chuck in the superlows for the rear. So weather permitting, next weekend. Fingers crossed.

Heres' a pic of the stockies all painted up, and a better quality one of the car. I really need to buy a proper camera, though.

    Cheers!
It's slowly becoming a P-plater mobile. Stock look isn't doing it for me anymore..

Also, forgot to mention. Installed my Fusion 6-inchers in the front doors. Sounds better, although it could just be a placebo affect.

    Oh, they're interesting alright! haha.
The needles are invisible in night time pictures because they're extremely un-transparent. You can see them in person, kind've. They're drivable with, but nothing compared to the originals. If you're planning on doing it, I'd do it with the proper paint, and not nail polish. I plan on doing them again, eventually..

Traralgon's not a bad place. It's good when you can get all the traffic lights on green in the one hit.

Yeah, the drivers door has a dent in it as you can see. Not a clue how it got there, as that's how I bought it. It's one of those things that give me the shits, but it's not really high on the priority list, unless I come into abit of money. The body is abit rough, but it does the job.

Not a clue on what the colour code is, but I believe the name is Sherbrooke Green, or something along those lines. Every wreckers I've been to has had things in Botanica Mica, which is close but no dice. I could be interested if the colours are the same

It does need a little bit of lovin', yeah. It's a damn sight better than what it was like though. But at the end of the day, it's my first car and it's 16 years old. It'll do for now.

Paint code should be on a compliance plate under the bonnet.

I named it the BBQ mobile, since it runs on LPG, 95% of the time

Paint code is C061. Sherbrooke green. Just checked. Thanks for that.

yes, imagine a car with a fold out BBQ, it could use the LPG to run it! and have a little cooler in the car for your beers and meat!

damn that would be awesome, it would be random BBQ's for all! lol
