Hi all thought I'd throw some pics up of my lastest addition to the garage. This is my daily driver which usually has a trailer carrying stone benchtop =)
I bought it from the original owner who was almost in tears as I drove it away. It was is ok condition but being the picky person I am I seen the potential and had a complete respray from the boys at spec one on the gold coast.a chiptorque chip, had the windows retinted, a nice sounding exhaust, and sound system.
I scored a brand new pair of genuine vs hsv maloo seats from a friend at hsv =) .
Next mods are
a decent set of wheels ( black centers polished outta lip)
tray liner
zinardi slim hard lid
and nice little cam
and posibly a supercharger if I can find one for the right price.
let us know what ya think =) I had a vu ss ute before and to be honest this is a much better ute.
well i got my new wheels and brakes today and i couldnt be happier next up im going to lower it about an inch , not going any lower as it a work ute and i usually have a trailer on it.
very nice mate, fewer and far between these. i like.
I can see why the owner nearly cried.
Nice pickup mate.

well a bit of an update . I fitted my new wheels and slotted rotors, as well as a crane 276 cam , crane lifters, isky dual valve springs, rollermaster timing set, kc timing cover . picked it up yesterday and runs like a dog . doesnt like to idle with the old tune . so after considing going a greenfoam , delcowizzard etc memcal and not getting a single response by any of them I have booked the car into matty spry (pits) for a full kalmaker tune . not the cheapest option but im hoping it will be money well spent . il keep ya posted
Hey mate you should have tried the1. He did the tune in my senator and i cant recommend him enought. And nice looking ute you got. Is it auto or manual
Nice ride there.
Keep us updated once the tune is done.
Absolutely beautiful mate, perfect example.
Too nice for a daily driver....
Very nice ride mate, get those silver bars from the cab to the tray sprayed a colour thats not balck, maybe silver? and lower asap!![]()
sweet ride man let us know who you get to do the tune as i have had no luck finding anyone that knows what there doing in Brissy i talked to Matt at pits and he wasnt interested in tuning my gts
funny you mention that was ment to get him to tune it but never happened =( but on the up side I got ahold of green foam and is doing me a tune as we speak. he has been so helpful so far and I cant wait to see how the maloo performs once he puts his magic to work. I will be getting the car onto a dyno just to see what it makes
hahaha nice i got one of his tunes in my gts now and he did a great job it already was tuned by the brock shop but his tune made a big difference compaired to it i was happy as he will do my fisrt tune for the blower but need to find some one to touch it up on the dyno
would but dont got the gts its in for paint job number 5 (long story to that one) but ive been thinkin about taking the XU6 out there just need some tyres for the back i dont think they like camber wear let me know if you plan to gop might come watch or see if i can get some tyres for the Xu6 by then
Todays update: my greenfoam tune arrived , dropped it in and wow what a difference . it starts and idles better than before , went for a drive and I couldnt be happier it pulls like a freight train . I took it for a run up to my mates dyno and back (350km round trip) and I cant be entirely sure but I think it may be lighter on fuel. Ran it up just to check air / fuel mixtures etc and made 164.6kw at the wheels on a dyno dynamics dyno .
Its so much nicer to drive now the only thing I'v noticed which I dont entirely like is it shifts a bit sooner and softer in pwr mode now which I will be looking into with greenfoam. Bang for bucks his tunes are awesome.
next mod Im looking at a small stally . im not sure how big but as the ute pulled a trailer (700- 900kg) daily it wont be huge. any suggestions?
glad to hear man i was super happy with mine and saw around 50km a tank more from his tune plus pulled alot harder
