hey all thought ide join up and share my calais with you.
Build period- less than a year hahah!
Name: Spud
Ride: VS calais s2
Paint: Lexus IS-F starfire Pearlwhite. all badges shaved and smoothed over, clear side indicators.
Engine: currently ecotec v6, bought an entire vr calais 5litre wreck with 160xxxkms on it drop tank and tight ass LSD,...conversion is happening next week.
Performance mods: Will have a single 3" exhuast dumped at the diff. Looking at crane 286 cam next year with all the goodies.
Stereo: kenwood 3preout headunit...soundstream 6" rear fill and soundstream competition rubicon splits in the front, powered by a kicker 4 channel and a pioneer 306c 12" sealed sub.
Suspension: Sl front with boags turbo shocks and strut top mounts, SSSL rear with with 4pt camber kit boags turbo shocks and all bushes replaced.
Wheels: 20" Zenetti throwbacks with 245/30/20" Altenzo rubber.
Future mods: VT brake upgrade Clear headlights/indicators, Spac bootlip, maybe more low, twin DD 512 subs in custom ported box, and i want coulsens in the front! but for now just enjoy cruising it, as its my daily driver!

To be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the clown mouth (centre hole) lip.

Meh its a genuine series 2 so ide rather keep it...i actually have considered the ss kit but i want to do more work to the engine etc now rather than cosmetic as i think it looks pretty good...yeah twin 2.5" does sound good but blood expensive in comparison!
looks good man, also not a fan of that center insert, could look a heap better if the middle fins were snapped out
its the whole insert...cause that lip that runs around it is also one piece...i prefer it with it and will never change it cause then it looks pov pack..;no thanks!

. Maybe single tone in colour would look tuffer. Other than that its a good base being a s2 vs commodore....
holly crap hsv304v8 how are you confused its a lexus colour on a holden and you want it to be a alaskin white vs cluby mock up and look like every other car out there ??? pfff stuff that and wheels dont look anything ricer at all more old school with a new spin on them agreed the pics of them aint the best to see the true look of them.

Yeah but the calais is nothing special to ruin. The only difference to a executive is: Ugly wood grain and power options and abit of silver on the bottom half and seats. were a clubsport is $10.000. so for a base this is $3000 car. buy a clubby kit for $500 tri spokes for $500 respray $2000 and it will look way better. No offence mate its just a vs commodore there not that rare theres 1 on every corner. The pearl is abit try hard but thats just my opinion... also those rockstar stickers are fully sikk bro cheers.
Bahahahaha a Calais is further removed from a exec than a cluby is a cluby of that era is a exec optioned with a V8 and a kit and wheels with a few interior changes
At least hes building his own car to how he likes it making it different not a cluby mock up like every other p plater dreams of doin

make sure you take plenty of pics of the conversion, its always fun a few years down the track to look back and think how far its come![]()
lol at the bloke saying he should have left it stock and all that bs about it being an executive or whatever, and saying to putty clubby rims on in, im sorry but those "dorito" tri spoke wheels look like balls. Id prefer a nice clean s2 calais then a clubby. Nice car mate, have a look at mine if you get the chance![]()

Thanks guys! motor was stripped right down yesterday and did all the seals..the amiutn of sludge in the engine was unbelievable...nearly passed out actually!, got a few minor headaches to sort out but its coming together!
