Hey guys, been lurking for a little while and thought its time I started my own ride thread.
Name: Jason
Ride: 1995 VS Acclaim
Colour: White
K's: Roughly 170,XXX when I picked her up in Feb this year (2011)
Engine Type: 3.8
Bodykit: Standard
Gearbox: Auto
Diff: Stock
Exhaust: Stock
Suspension: Stock
Wheels/Tyres: Vertini Hennessey 19"
Interior: Stock W/ Carbon/Black seat covers
Stereo: Pioneer Headunit, Stock speakers
Will get some pics up soon, but basically, my VS is looking like a bowlers car - Stock Standard, bar some seat covers and a headunit(pics now up)
A little bit about myself: This is my first car, been riding bikes for around 6 years day in day out.. commuting and on weekends. Only started driving in Feb this year and im 26 - yeahhh, late comer haha. Anyways, recently sold my pride and joy GSX-R to get the ball rolling towards a new bike/uprgade.. and in the mean time, ive decided I will put some work into my car to keep me sane! If im going to be looking at it/driving it every where and my sole transport for at least 12 months I want to appreciate it and make it more 'mine'
I've got some vision for her.. after checking out alot of other rides out and about and online and im looking to go for a oldschool/stylish kind of look, try and keep it simple and clean looking.
The car was in really good condition...until some prick decided to reverse out of a car space, and into my rear left quarter and did the F#@KING runner! So 'mods' will start off with getting that panel fixed up and getting her all back in shape.
To do list:
- Going to get the windows tinted soon DONE
- Remove front and rear bumper trim / possibly paint or remove side ones
- Looking at getting some 18s on in the early new year... DONE- Ended up getting 19s
- Picked up a set of chrome window trim from a Berlina this week at the wreckers, so will get them on soon before I get the windows tinted DONE
- Re do headlining
- Paint is a lil dull on all of the top facing areas, bonnet, roof and boot.. so looking at giving it a good cut and polish to try and schmick the paint up and get it looking fresh.
I think that'll be a good start![]()
Future Mods
- Good sound system
- Possible SS Kit
- Lower it a bit
And im sure over time i'll think of other lil things to do... Other mods TBA.

Cant wait till you get the pics up mate , sounds like its going to be a beast of car
Pics now up... nothing special to look at tho![]()
looks nice and clean.
is it just me or in that pic of the rear view mirror the head lining is sagging?
*adds to the to do list*
other than that its pretty tops
Yeah, well spotted. It looks alot worse in the pic then it does in the flesh... its def' on the to do list tho![]()
Pics look good mate , Nice stock base to start with . Dont worry I think everyone with a vr/vs has sagging roof lining
So, booked in to drop her off at the panel beaters on Monday to get the rear quarter back in shape...
I think that is a great starter car mate.

My VS II Berlina Wagon
MY12 II SV6 Sportwagon
Good first car. Parts are plentiful for these, and there is an abundance of information on them, this forum is a shining example :P
Sounds like you have some nice mods coming, how about getting the clear VT style oval front guard indicators? Should be reasonably priced on ebay.
Yeah thanks for reminding me Bizmark... will be nice to tidy the indicators up with a set of clear ones!
Dropped the car off to the panel beaters this arvo, should get it back on Thursday... the guy was even nice enough to give me a lift home in his Porsche![]()
nice ride man, dunno how i overlooked this thread....
i think he was just rubbing in the fact he has a Porsche! lol
Thanks mateHaha, yeah probably... Ive never been a fan of Porsche's, if I was throwing money around like that on a car id definitely be getting something else. But hey, it was nice for a experience.
Nice clean VS mate, maybe get some cheap genuine wheels or even just genuine hubcaps for the time being?
Cheers F l a k... Yeah true, once I pick her up from the panel beaters and see it all back in shape on Thursday arvo that will def' get me inspired to start making it more my own. First things first, will be putting the chrome trim/rear quarter windows in so that I can book it in to get tinted before the summer heat comes more frequently...
Ive got a cruise and a melb trip in Feb/March next year, so mods ie: wheels might not come as quickly as I wish. But dont think I want to waste to much money on getting a set of 'cheap' genuine wheels. I know for sure tho, once the chrome trim/tint is done I will fast get sick of the hubcap look... i'll work something out![]()
Picked her up for the panel beaters this arvo, they did a awesome job! Might update with some before and after pics if I can be stuffed.. Didnt realise how much I missed driving my VS around until I got back in it and started driving home...
Ended up detouring via Bursons and picked up some goodies
So now, hopefully if im not to busy this weekend will try and get the chrome window trim/rear quarter windows in and let the modding begin![]()
Sounds good, post some pics you lazy bum
Also yaay BursonsMy favourite shop lol. What did you get?
Well, I guess I could... already have the before shots - just gotta take a few other shots of the after![]()
Didnt pick up anything to exciting, new radiator cap, drive belt annnnnnnd, will leave the other 'goodie' for pics once the mod is done![]()
hurry up and install it all mate , im keen for pics!
yeah man, where are the pics? chrome makes everything look pettier! lol
I'm keen for the mods to start to man, sick of it all just running through my head haha.. will be def' getting some work done over the weekend and will try and dedicate the next few weekends leading up to Christmas to the car, just hard for me during the week tp do even get little things done coz im so flat out. By the time I get home I CBF doing anything...
Here is some pics to get you by

Mmmm, shiny...
Was on the to do list already, but seeing this schmick looking quarter makes me happy knowing the rest of the car will come up nice after a good cut and polish![]()
Also, got these in the mail today...

That panel came up nice, and the indicators will make it look cleaner too![]()
