Recently sold my VR II Exec (pic below), as it was lacking ABS and airbag which i was after to start with. Purchased this from the Quokka and was quite shocked at the condition it was still in. Still has to go back to the people i bought it off to fix the rear left quarter panel and replace rear left door. Had to fit a new gearbox rather quickly as the converter wasnt locking up and was flaring gears rather badly. Purchased a replacement only to find that its not that healthy. So will either be getting replaced with a rebuilt 4HDD from a mate or converting it to manual.
Front LCA's will be getting replaced with Nolathane arms and upper and lower trailing arms will be getting replaced soon. Then hopefully fit some SSL springs all round, some adjustable castor arms and adjustable sway bars front and rear.
Fitted VT master cylinder and VS plastic booster couple weeks ago and did the VX 330mm rotors and C5 calipers today. Stops A LOT better then the old setup.
Pretty much decided its going to cop an L67 when the funds allow it.
old VR Exec
looks much cleaner with the rear badging removed
damage that needs repairing
rather destroyed castor bushes
VX wheel and stalks
new master, booster, rotors and calipers, little difference between stock VR and VX HSV

Looks like a pretty good pick up. Hope you get the gearbox sorted easily.
Was this down at Trigg beach yesterday morning ?
love the brakes and the steering wheel, lower it and it will be sweet man, but overall its nice

Been quite some time since ive updated this as ive done a fair bit since my last update.
Redid all the trailing arm bushes. Fitted Nolathane HD upper arms and fitted my own bushes to the lower arms and the diff mounts. What a bastard they are to do.
Fitted an adjustable panhard rod, no more rubbing when coming in the driveway and a front strut brace.
King spring lows all around now. Didnt want it too low since i do a fair amount of country driving.
Statesman dash conversion, with foot well lights and rear cigarette lighter.
Fitted power windows.
Bought some rear venetians, including the side windows.
Fitted up the HSV 330mm brakes. Fills out the SSV's nicely now.
Oh and FINALLY got the throw the 4L60 in the bin, as its not been converted to manual.
Got around to fitting up my AU thermo fans. Bit of messing around. They work so much more efficiently then the standard VR ones. Cools down in half the time. And aircon stays a lot cooler when stationary now.
