I'm dealing with just car atm for my supra. Piss poor if you ask me. They don't offer a replacement vehicle. They only pay for tow trucks from the accident to anywhere. Plus the buggerise around by not actually choosing good repairers.

Bottom line don't go with them.

ok so having looked at insurance, will probably go RACV or AAMI. the best 2 options i can find. still expensive but better then nothing.

i doubt many modifications will now be done on this as everyone is saying against it.
but anyway speakers are in. may redo joins will have to wait and see.

also anyone know where i cn get a good 1st hand tubliner from?

    TL;DR
    click link for tubliner, thoughts?
    thinking of doing stuff.

i think i answered my own question with the tubliner.
same guy i was looking for. and best part is i can go pick it up, so no freight =P

so whats your thoughts on this?
    HOLDEN-COMMODORE-UTE-LINER-VG-VS
its about $350 which isnt exactly too much (claim it on tax anyway =P)
i can make little inserts and what not.
    has tie down points.
and my current rubber mat will be put on top aswell.

oh and i think some modifications will take place. (unlike in other post) (will also do some minor fixes now and then. ie panelbeating)
planning on extractors and a new 2 1/4 exhaust. (still getting quotes, may get custom made 2 1/4. should i go dual cats?)
    tubliner (as posted now)
and getting this LSD in. which will mean all new bushes (should start ordering them soon).
after which it will probably be nothing else. (unless trayner gets that rear window and likes it)
oh and saving for an old muscle car.... probably be a good 1- 1/2 yrs until then. but thinking of importing a camaro. 68 probably. and hopefully big block manualling it!

oh and does anyone know what could possibly make the radio really crackly?
ive put cd's (vinyl LP's dont fit unfortunately) in and its all fine sound wise.
its just become really crackly (like it has a weak signal). want to sort it out for clear crisp radio listening =P

oh and after i fixed door actuator it stopped working the next day.
then worked again the day after.
so my assumption is now a loose connection. which if it stops working again it will probably get fixed up

    essay post is long =P

    thanks for that guys.
next time i clean it ill try to get some photos.
at the moment it is absolutely filthy. the wonder of having a black car, and working in one of the dustiest places around =P

oh just bought some new sunvisors for it..
all up $25 (thats buy and postage)
current ones are a bit dirty and have a little rip in the drivers side. i think they are cream coloured. or beige or whatever. ones i bought are cream/beige so should be the same.
tbh i cant tell the colour because current ones are dirty =P

and lastly i think i will get the tubliner.
rear tub inside part is covered in scratches etc and it should clean it up.
just need to organise a time/day with the guy. hopefully its ok to pick up on weekends.

    TL;DR
    got quotes.
    made a funny.
will be getting tubliner soon. woohoo!

yeah i may need a new aerial. its definately a signal problem.
maybe i should get a massive 5 post bullbar, with 4 massive aerials and flags for extra reception. might pick up Nasa's signal if im lucky.
    obvious joke is obvious

i want to get a new sunshade. like the eyes off the movie cars.
anyone know where to get it? or how to make it?
would be awesome for a laugh.
EDIT: just ordered one. with black eyelids. approx $25 (its worth it tbh, cheap and for a laugh)
if you want one like it go to ebay or so and type Disney Cars Sun Shade
    the one i bought: Disney-Cars-Window-Sun-Shade-Blind-Black

speaking to guy about tubliner, next 2 weeks if he has one in stock, will pick up after work.
just going to organise a day.
looking forward to it. definately a good spend of about $350.

so anyway onto more important stuff.
spoke to Hurricane and HM Headers today.
Hurricane headers with the new y pipe worked out to about $550. *dont think thats fitted*
HM Headers, with everything to the Cat in stainless was $540. and if i order now its 20% off. so $430 approx. (good value if i do say so myself)
although its about a 4 week wait to get them, as they need to be made and so forth. which im in no rush. even if they sit around in the garage for a while longer until it all gets put on it doesnt bother me. but would it be worth it for the price?
    your thoughts would be appreciated.

oh and noticed on car today on drivers door its like its been kicked or something (maybe a stroller)
and then another spot is sticking out a bit (like its been kicked from the inside =P)
i dont know how it got there, if its been there for ages or what.
pain in the ass though. and i dont even park near anybody. just another thing to get fixed.

    Picked up the TUBLINER today!!!!!!
bloody stoked about it. and apparently they are discontinuing the vs ones, which is a shame. guy was saying they are one of the best sellers.
just sitting it there looks amazing. so clean and tidy. so you know what ill be doing this weekend =P
will do before and after pics. to give you a comparison. youll be amazed.

got the sunvisors. bit of average damage. going to find out about reupholstering them. bit of a project i guess =P
waiting on sunshade to arrive. should be in a week or so. good for a laugh.
ordered the HM Headers. and the 2 1/4 exhaust. cannot wait to get it all done.
still need to order diff stuff. and some other bushes for the front. might go tomorrow. see what happens i guess.

    other then that.
if anyone comes across a 502 S/C Manual 67-69 Camaro point me towards it.
i know i still have just shy of 3 years til off the p's but i wouldnt mind getting one now to build up.
even if it is a big block manual 67-69 camaro let me know. very keen on it.
otherwise it shall mean the joys of importing! =P

    TL;DR
unhooked tailgate. forgot about it and it dropped into where towbar is. dented it. need to get it fixed.
tubliner is in (pics at bottom)
    a few edits for progress.
been an expensive weekend -.- and its only going to get worse =P

took off hooks to try to help get tubliner on tailgate area....
then opened and it swung down onto towball area. (i was inside tub)
massive freakin dent in the centre!!!!!!!!!!!!
yet another thing to bloody well fix.
another god damned problem because of my stupidity

you do not realise how angry i am now.

    Edit: (to save from reposting)
ive been able to pop most of the dent out. which makes it a lot better.
still 2 lines that are visible.

pain in the rear though. so upset about it.
so i guess ill have ot get it fixed *sigh* might also enquire about a full outside spray and so forth. see if its worth it.
otherwise there are a few other bits i want to get fixed. with panel damage (minor but im picky)

ill reedit again when its all finished.
but its a pain to do. the old tub had these rubber sidings on it. obviously for protection. not sure if they were oem.
taking them off was easy. getting the other sticky bits off isnt.
and found a ton of silicone of all things there.

so hopefully this will be done today.
unless of course suddenly car catches on fire or whatever.....

    RE Edit:
the most back part of liner is the biggest pain to put in!!!!!
ive already had to modify it and going to have to do some more modification.
might just into the big part first. atleast that should be easy..... *sarcasm*

    RE RE Edit:
    ok to before and afters.
after is left one. befores are the left ones.

still not happy bout the dent but ahh well. can always be fixed i guess -.-
no the dent isnt in the pic either =P
if you want to know where its dented. look in the original pics and at the back where the sun is. 2 nice lines (where towbar goes in.. hit that thing.. nice square) and made another not nice line. now to buy 2 more badges. get back resprayed and panelbeated. but they might say get a new tailgate for ease. will have to see them i guess.
and it pushed the 2 bars that hold the soft cover closer in. so the cover sits up much higher now. looks wierd but it works. so im not going to fix something that aint broke (for now)

would have been cheaper to get it professionally installed then to now have to get this panelbeating done....
going to get the new sun visors retrimmed. so another cost =P
such a great day when youve also just gone and brought a few hundred dollars of tools! nice and expensive week =P
oh and extractors are being made. exhaust is also bought.
and diff is on hold til i get everything else sorted out. and no after todays problems i will not be installing it myself! =P

yeah i thought the tubliner was going to be different. but ahh well not going to complain =P
thought it was going to have the slots ot put small barricades up and some tie down hooks aswell.
and ive lost about 150mm at the front of the tub because it finishs up really early =P

    so went to panelbeaters today.

    so here are the options:
    a) take to panel shop on monday. get a paintless dent removal quote. for only tailgate.
    b) get new bumperettes both sides. get new badges. get tailgate panelbeated and painted along with new bumperettes and some other fixings to neaten it up. have a few other deep marks/scratches i want fixed.

option b will work out to about $1000 all up with new bits and pieces. maybe less.
anyone know where to get new bumperettes? might try holden on thursday, but anyone know of anywhere else? dont too fussed if its the wrong colour, will be getting painted.

thinking i might just do option b. but i can only get a serious quote once i get everything.
had work done there before and it is 100% superb. could never complain.

oh and before it goes there ill probably paint towbar. as the surrounding ares will be all striped or chucked out and new bits used. to make it look much better.

also considering a new tonneau bar as the old bars are a lil too long for new set up. (not much but enough to be a pain)
old back one should go on front part fine.
been looking at an adjustable one. will have to wait and see i guess.

sunshade arrived today. cannot wait for the laughs.
sunvisors went in for trimming. shall get back soon. no rush really.
still done jack all about diff. shall order parts soon.
extractors being built. exhaust either being built or sent.
how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that

yeah i know. looks great. much more refined.
still want to push the left hand side down a bit (it sits up a bit over the rail in the corner)
which will pretty much just be a screw into the side down low (both sides so it looks correct)

pics will get put up when i can be bothered taking them =P
should also try to get a paparazzi one for a bit of a joke. they look like this:

or maybe one of these? =P

also need to hurry up and order these bushes. damn me working on a saturday and the shops not being open on a sunday! =P
might aswell clean the diff up and get it ready though.

EDIT: just noticed the steering wheel is on the Left side in those pics. even better! =P

and these bloody central locking is doing my head in!
works some days, not the others. really dont want to pull the door off again either.

2nd EDIT: really wish i could buy this now. really dont want to buy a weekender unless its in cash *sigh* and still it would be garaged until off the p's =P
just needs a manual gearbox chevrolet camaro 1969
    or chevrolet-camaro-1969
so close yet so far! =P

and found this. P Plate legal *gasp* chevrolet-impala-1962

new stock exhaust arrived (thanks NAAF)
    picked up some new bumperettes.

need to order all bushes/get diff ready.
also cannot wait for the extractors to be finished.
need to order some badges. the series 3 and HOLDEN badge.

so Diff/bushes/other service stuff will be first.
exhaust after that (if extractors be built).
then the panelbeating/painting. and will paint towbar beforehand. as they said overspray wont matter too much as they will paintstrip panels around there.

also found a place that can print things.
so may end up getting another sunshade done (just sew onto the old one)

time for the update. thought it would be good to save for 1 big hit of an update.
lots of pics aswell to help tell the story.

might go see the local print shop about the sunvisor. see what can happen.
also cleaned my tonneau with armorall wipes. just a pic to show you how it looks. which i reckon is pretty awesome.
pic shows the differences. darker bits have been wiped with the wipes

    currently sitting around.
Diff that im doing up. rotor to rotor. going to clean/paint and get it in there soon.
new Stainless Extractors with connecting Y piece.
new 2 1/4 stock exhaust from cat to the end.
just about every bloody bushing you can possibly buy if i didnt have it.. (may need spring insulators though =P)
    adjustable strut tops.
    ball joints.
    brand new rear bumperettes.
brand new Holden and Series 3 badge for after panelbeating.

Exhaust goes in tuesday. should be good to see the difference.
good timing to because the rear mount for exhaust actually snapped clean off and is held up by 2 stainless ties.
    pic of the snap here:

    now for the exhaust.

Pics of the diff and all the bushes and everytihng else.
some are for the front end. like the strut tops and ball joints.

    Stuff for Panelbeating

    TO DO:

    Next Service:
just need to paint the Diff and get it in with all new parts.
front stuff put in aswell. hoepfully will sort out the knock. and hopefully put the front left where it should be. (appears a bit far back)
buying some new brakes aswell. as it may be a cause of another problem.
those will all be put in at the next service, as i cannot be stuffed doing it.

    Get this Panelbeating done.

that should just about be it for now.
after which i hope to have to do nothing else. other then maintain it. and enjoy it.
oh and save for the next car.
still dunno what to get. but i have over 2 and a half to go.
plenty of time to choose. but the waiting is going to suck =P

yeah ill probably sell the diff currently in the car. Im pretty sure its a 3.08 but its non LSD. Which will hopefully going in most likely just after easter, because of the 10 days ill have to sort everything out like painting if its not already done by then.
ill let you know closer to the date to see if your still interested.

i got the badges through holden directly.

    small update.

Exhaust on, had to go back and get some stuff fixed, new y pipe, and so forth.
the y pipe supplied was for a sedan. and they dont make ute ones apparently. it also sat really low. so now its how it should be =P
goes good from idle, and from 2000rpm up.
so it pretty much sits on idle, and driven like a grandma.
although i wouldnt recommend stainless extractors to anyone, bit of a pain noisewise. but they look pretty much stock in the bay.

    Brakes arrived. (thanks to GSL)
DBA T3 clubspecs all round with QFM Pads.

Diff will be cleaned and hoepfully painted this weekend.

everything goes in next week. so hopefully it all goes well.
