I got sick of my VN Berlina v8, cause it was old, needed paint and was shit for towing my track car. Plus i wanted to go back into the VR VS shape. Started looking and found this shitta, for $2k i got what i paid for! Neglected, dirty, leaking, scratched, belt slap and the rest.. But i saw potential so i bought it. needed heaps of work, and still does... but i absolutely love it!
The engine in my VN has had some special treatment (not by me lol), so that engine was to be transferred into the VR SS.
The VR was running so the plan was to sit both cars (My VN v8 manual, and the VR SS auto) side by side and do a running gear swap. SO pulled each engine out and did gaskets throughout and welch plugs on both. Had to source a VN v8 auto for the engine going into the VN, and obviously the engine and trans FROM the VN went straight into the VR SS. Confusing, i know
So thats pretty much where im at right now. The plan was to daily this b!tch, and sell off the VN.. Thats going as planned, so i'm happy
Here's some of the pics. Taken throughout the first few days of owning it

nice pick up for 2grandgotta love the vr/vs shape
Well finished my exhaust upgrade a few days ago, was tricky... but worked out well.
I bought a VX R8 stainless steel twin 2.25 catback and adapted it to my SS, also deleted the rear ressy. Sounds really good! best $150 ive ever spent on an exhaust!
Pics and vids to come!

So how is the 3.46 compared to the 3.08 take off and cruising wise ?
Note, its 3.46 cause i put in a VT M80 diff. If you were looking to do a similar ratio change for your diff it would be 3.45...
But yea, they are great. noticeable improvement in pick up off the line. Much more responsive around town cause the car is no longer labouring. cruising? excellent have it in 5th at 100 and it puts the engine in the zone where it can still accelerate if you squeeze the throttle.
Best of all is the improvement in fuel economy! standard ratio is actually really bad for loading up the engine, no wonder why 5L's are pretty average on fuel when they have stock diffs.

Thanks for that. My diff is getting pretty noisy...almost to annoyance...and I'm thinking of a ratio change when it get it rebuilt. 3.45 sounds the go.
^Same there, probably 3.7 for me.
Also, nice car.
