Hi all, this is my beast, it's a 1996 VS V6 with cold air induction, no cat with 2.5 inch straight threw, 2inch lift kit with rear air bags, 5 poster 3.25inch pipe with 3inch stays (only 48kgs) and a few little extras. Future mods are to put it on a GQ patrol with the GQ gearbox and a super charged 5ltr, any way here are the pics, some before the bull bar was put on. Also let us know what u all think, will post more pics later after the next trip.

Lol, hope the bullbar comes off for the drags...
I've never had it on for the drags but i'd hate to think of the 1/4 mile time with it on, mybe a 17 at its best, the bull bar has slowed it down a bit takes a long time to get 180klms/hr out of it but it will still do a top speed of about 190klm/hr but thats foot flat. Thats why I'm going to super charge it next year.

so you dont drive it on the roads because its illegal, but its clearly registered.
you only use it for drags, but have never dragged it with the bumper on. if the bumber is only 48 kilos it would make fk all difference.
whats is left to do with a vehicle like that? i mean its got a vented bonnet so it wouldnt be particlarly suitable for much off-road work....
would you like to provide a consistant story or continue to fib? lol
LOL this is full country bumkin stylelove it!!! its really special in its own way
maby he thinks there are coppers on here? lol
looks like a brindy boys ute only for the family not just the girlfriend lol
love it
What I ment was that the cat is on when driven on the road, the exhaust comes of for the drags, and the bull bar dose make a big difference because it is a big wind break, i had to cut the front mesh bits in the center to allow more air back into the radiator.Originally Posted by vlv8vic

Is that a hopper knocker bar?
Looks great, do you mean its going onto a GQ chassis?
Yeah i think thats what they call it but not certin but it was made by SWplatt in NSW, and yes thats what I'm hopeing to do, got a quote a couple of weeks ago about $30000-$40000 but thats if I supply motor, gearbox and chassis
30-40k is a bit steep if your providing the major parts, 25-30k max.
I helped my old boss put a VU body on a patrol chassis last year. Not an easy project, a lot of screwing around but it was awsome. Awsome with blown 400ci chev.....
sound like a nice beast got any pics, 30-40k is a bit steep but if i was to go out and buy a new 4wd i'd be looking at that easy
whys that mate
sorry mate I dont have any pics and I dont know where it lives these days...Originally Posted by CHANDLC

nah the bull bar dosen't bottom out but it properly would have if I din't get the car lifted 2inch's. I think i've got pics of a storm ute on a GQ chassis haveing a look for them now will post them when I find them.
bloody oath smashes them hit one at about 95klm on drivers side and no worries
Found them, these photos are of a guy's ute down near brisbane some where he put it on a GQ chassis with a 6-7inch lift kit, super charged V8 putting out (for memory) 225rw/hp with 39inch super swompers and 320something rw/hr with the 32inch tyres and he did most of the work him self.
