hey mate, where did you get your exhaust tips from and roughly how much did you pay for em ?
CHECK OUT MY VR CALAIS
http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...lais-5-0l.html
I got them from the exhaust shop. I picked them out when I booked it in and he got them in for me (he had 2 1/4 inch tips on shelf) I just asked for 3inch ones to fill the gap and told him how I wanted them to sit. Not sure what I paid but I'll see if it's written on the invoice and let you know.
Looks nice mate. Where did you get the new cap from
Looks good Nick
Thanks guys. The cap I got off ebay. I have been hunting around for a cap for ages and couldn't find one I wanted. Then this one came up and I grabbed it. It only cost $40 to my door. I don't think he was a business or anything so it might be a once of cap.
Nice Bling!

Have you sorted the level 3 instant fuel readings yet?
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
Yeah all sorted. I thought I sent you an email about it. The tan wire wasn't making proper contact. I re did it and it was fine. Only one other problem I came across which Chris (PREDATR) helped me with. When I connected the yellow/black wire to a2 the fuel just constantly counted up. It was using .01ltrs every second. I used about 5ltrs of fuel from it idling for 7or8 minutes, lol. I connected the yellow/black wire to the other yellow/black wire on the same plug and all was good. Chris came across this issue doing a VS SS and knew what the issue was straight away.
Hi Nick I`ve only read a couple of pagers at the front and back.
One very nice VR mate.

Thanks mate. No much updated unfortunately. Chucked some new injectors and plugs in it and it idles and runs heaps better now. Now I need to get an LSD sorted for it.
Sounds good nick! Have you weighed up the options for the diff? Have you considered a 4wd systems lokka? I've had my LSD rebuilt twice now and am sure as hell not doing it the same again! The Holden lsd's aren't the best to begin with either... The lokka centres (~$400 new) use an open diff carrier and provided the carrier is in good nick, they apparently don't need shimming so are easy to install diy. As opposed to an lsd which lock with sufficient initial torque, the lokka centres are normally locked, and only unlock during light load cornering. In this sense they are great at maintaining forward drive, particularly during spirited cornering. That's what I'll be installing in mine and the mrs barge, stuff Holden LSD's!
Just my 2c nick but something to think about while also being budget conscious!
Keep up the good work!
I have taken it into account thanks mate. I'll just go with the standard reshimmed LSD for now though. Don't think I'll drive it hard enough to warrant the lokka. But if I do and the LAD goes, then alokka is definitely on the cards.
here is another thread I used to watch (don't mind me I haven't been on here in ages, just looking for cars I already know) ....looking good mate, the 5L is a great engine after getting out of 6....for noise alone lol
Well a small update. Haven't done much to it. Gave it a good clean today and about 2 months ago I changed the injectors. Idles heaps better now drives really well too.
The old and new injectors.
Just have to sort out the front springs (need V8 ones) because the V6 springs don't like the extra weight of the V8. Plus also need to get the LSD rebuilt that I have had sitting here for quite a while. Hopefully I will get some time in the new year.
looking very nice mate still the cleanest vr i have seen in a while, gotta love the 5ltr's![]()
Mmmm chrome....haha awesome car man! I love the colour, it looks amazing!
Thanks guys. Not much has really been done to it yet. Had the front springs changed because it was nose diving, so raised it a bit. It's a bit higher than what I wanted (hoping it will settle a bit) but it handles so much better than before and the car sits more level too.
Those reconditioned injectors solved a couple of problems, idle and no back fire/crackle when it's revved.
Next on the list is to find time to sort out the LSD diff then a tune.
Looking and sounding great...nice work.
Thanks mate. Wish I had more time to get things done on it though.
