Well, I've been on this site for ages, and thought I better finally get around to posting this stupid thing up.
It started off as a stock maroon automatic VR V6 when I bought it two years ago, since then, it's been through a whole lot of changes.
Straight after I bought it, I had it resprayed in VX silver (I don't know the proper name), with a touch of bluey-purple in the clear, as I hated the original maroon.
I also threw in a stereo and Xbox setup.
That was all well and good, but naturally I wanted to go a bit lower, and whack some wheels on it. But being the insane bastard that I am, I went nuts, throwing in some Pedders Ultra Low fronts, and resetting some Pedders ultra low rears 3". Handled great, got defected a lot, and hurt like hell to drive in.
After doing the usual mods (S/C VS CAI, 2 1/2 exhaust, clear indicators etc) I decided I was after a bit more power. So I got a Crow Stage 2 cam and chip package. This was nice, didn't feel a whole lot quicker or anything, just a much nicer note in the exhaust.
So after I decided I wanted to go even faster again, I began the operation of converting to manual and installing a CRS supercharger kit.
Had some fun with that, upgraded to the higher boost pulley, etc etc. Then disaster struck, the SC-14 gave way, and threw teflon into the motor, jamming up the valve seats.
By this point I'd been working as a mechanic/engine builder for a bit, so I went all out nuts. The cars not completely finished at this stage (It's very close) but this is how it stands:
Model: 94 Holden VR V6 Commodore
Engine: Buick EV6
Go fast Mods:
Ported and polished heads, running V8 valves and forged valve seats, heavy duty valve springs. Yes, standard cast iron heads, to all you people who seem to want to run out and buy alloy ones..
Custom grind Wade boost cam
Twin T3/4 turbos, turbonetics BOV
600x300x100 front mount intercooler
Wiseco forged pistons, SCAT H beam GN connecting rods, Bradey 4.2L stroker crank (I should have bought a COME one). ARP bolts, ACL bearings and rings.
MSD coils with 10mm leads
Bosch 044 fuel pump
Twin 2.5" exhausts from turbo back into single 3", but will be changing to twin 3" asap.
Slow down Mods:
VT GTS brake booster
VT Twin piston calipers
Braided lines
1" Fast fill master cylinder
Wheels & Suspension:
Custom coilovers, and 20"'s as soon as I find a set I really like.
Interior:
4 seater, using VR exec seats. Silver sprayed plastics, VY SS black leather shifter boot with silver stitching.
Stereo:
XBox and 7.5" screen, two 12" Jaycar subs, two Jaycar amps, and 4 Jaycar 6.5 speakers. (I got stingy with sound gear)
Gearbox:
Standard T5 (If someone knows anybody that can build stronger T5's, PM me) with a PBR heavy duty clutch, and a lightened flywheel.
Diff:
4.11 LSD for road use.
3.45 Spool for dorifto.
Sorry about the size/age of most of the pics. If anyone has any questions about anything I've done, I'm more than happy to answer them.
And there are no bay pics because Interweb cops/EPA scare me![]()
(I'm more than happy to show people at show and shines/cruises however)
woah thats awsum![]()
have you had it dynoed yett??
looks good mate. would love to see it in the flesh one day.
curious, the v8 valves, how much bigger are they than the stock ones and could i get part numbers at all? are they the same length as the v6 ones?
Nice! how long did it take to paint it, im assuming you took the engine out and done the inside to, curious as ive always wanted to respray my car. Good work on the car by the way.
Nate

i cant see any pics of a twin turbo setup?
i see a sidemount supercharger?
yer me 2 i see a Toyota supercharger mounted on the side?
Ah oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh
You 2 are pathetic. Read the whole thread, it used to be supercharged now it runs twin turbos.
Good work mate, looks tops, i'd love to see the bay some time... can web cops/epa even do anyhting with pictures off the net?
Im guessing its not engineered then.
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
so wherz the twin turbo pics then?
Now that is off the chain ... I don't think I will really get to see the car in the flesh (as I live in NSW), but if you could PM me some pics of the engine bay I would love to see them ...
sweet looking ride dude, love the ride height
post up some interior pics ay
goodluck wit it!
@ Hakhawk: I'll get the size and part numbers for you tomorrow at work if I remember. We had to tip the valves a little more than usual from memory, but otherwise they were ok. Makes a big difference to the sound of the motor, personally I think it makes it sound a bit screwed.
@ Cheetr: Yeah, I haven't put any pics of the bay up for two reasons. 1) I lost my digi cam cable AGAIN, and 2) People will have their doubts about what I've spent the last 12 months doing, and there's not enough there to justify a pair of charming TMU to turn up at my house like they were doing when it was running the SC14. But that's another story.
Eventually I will definitely put pictures up to end the confusion, but I would prefer to have it engineered by that point.
I'm still a little confused as to what computer I should be running it with, as I've heard pro's and con's of a few different types. Does anyone have suggestions? If it helps, I'm using the standard Delco and a 3 bar map sensor at the moment.
Incredibly nice mate... cant believe you took so long to post it up!
Sweet VR and keep up the awesome work![]()
Dont beleive twin turbs til i see them

Nice ride man. As for everyone that doesn't believe you about the turbos and I'm sure alot of people can understand why you don't to post pics (defecting is a pain in the a** and too much hassle, let the police work to find something to pick on). Anyone that doesn't believe you, line em up at a drag meet and make believers of em'. As for your computer, research what your needs are and go with the one that is most suited to your needs. Also make sure there is a good tuner near you just in case sh*t happens and you need it fixed. Apart from that the thing is hectic.
When you see a car that's BLOWN it's refering to the budget.
@ Hozy and Cheetr: You guys are actually amongst the few that have seen this car out. But that's fair enough, I wouldn't blame you.
@VP_Luke: Comp is around 8.1:1 with 46cc bowls. Boost will be run around the 1 bar mark. I haven't done anything about a tune yet, because I haven't worked out what to do with the computer. Piping is routed down the standard exhaust side, with the drivers side travelling over the top of the transmission. I had to rerun the wiring along the firewall and down the drivers side. The dude at Taylah Made Exhausts in Melton thought it would be the best size for what I was attempting.
