Yeah its a good colour when its clean. The colour doesn't photograph very well though, it comes out dull.
Cheers![]()
future mods are in wrong order, WORK THE MOTOR FIRST, looks come last.
Very nice mate, some good mods to come.
Love that colour!
Very nice dude, wheels make it look way better just needs to be droped a little i think, brakes? take wheel off wire brush caliper put rag around rotor and paint with what ever colour engine enamel you wish, i think red looks good, the engine enamel last a long time 3 years+ so far on kates stato and cheap! all the best with it.
Bit of an update.....
Got a new stereo put in a couple of weeks ago (Will post up some pics when I clean the interior)
This is what I got:
HU: Alpine 9857i
Front: MB Quart DSF 216
Rears: Stock (and just running of the HU)
Sub: RF P212D2
Amp: RF p450.4 (to run sub and front speakers)
This was installed in custom box and custom boot panel, looks really neat and ALMOST factory![]()
Also just spent the last 2-3 days sound deadening the front doors, made some new pods and am also sound deadening a few other spots as we speak (My poor hands are so dirty and sticky - You will never really know how much time and effort it takes to sound deaden your doors until you do it!!!! lol)

Thanks mate. Yeah it looks really nice when its clean and when its a dark day - Looks really nice then.
Bit of an update. I colour coded my door handles last weekend. Came out alright, colour is a little different (But I think I notice it because I'm looking for it!) Will get some pics up when I wash the car.............
Well after the crash I lost a few updates and pics....I'l go through and start uploading them again
Here's some pics of the custom pods and new subs/amp....
Time for an update.
I picked up an L67 with 60,000kms from a VT Calais yesterday......can anyone guess where it's going to go...?
That's right, I'm ditching the Ecotec and putting in an L67. I'm still contemplating on whether I should put some goodies on it before it goes in, or wait to see if the thing actually runs first!
I'm giving it a good clean as we speak, and will post some pics up soon (it just looks like a stock L67 though lol).
coming along there very nice mate
nice car mate. mine looks identical..same colour too.
Just a question though , whats with the door pods? wont normal 6.5'' speakers fit in the stock pods? Because i want to get splits on the front.
thanks
Haven't updated this thread for a while, so here's a copy of some updates from another forum....
I've decided to pull the car off the road mid Jan to start the conversion. I get off my P's at the start of Feb, and I think I'm asking for trouble driving a 'slightly' modified L67 before then. I'm still debating whether or not I give the bay a bit of a smooth and respray whilst the engine is out. Reason being that once I start going down that path I won't be able to stop lol. But I'll probably hide some wiring and neaten it up a bit.
I put the heads on last week, and then put everything else back on so I can do a few measurements and also see it looking like an actual engine again lol. I need to make some brackets/spacers for the alternator as I am (well am trying to lol) put the alternator down where the AC used to be.
Some pics of the good bits...
Here are some pics of it all mocked up...

Well I finally got around to painting the console and putting it all back together. I still want to try and match the colour of the dash end on the door a bit better, but it will do for now lol.
On that note, does anyone know what the colour of the dash is called in VS's (the blue-ish one)? I've tried finding a close match, and even asked about getting some paint custom matched to it....but no luck yet.

Geez, I finally update this thread and not one person replies![]()
