Ok...here we go!
After the loss of JC before we began hosting it, I personally was an active member also.
I did have a post on my own personal VS which was lost so I have reposted it for all to see.
So here it is!...My VS Acclaim.
This car used to be my stepdads, then mums, then grandparents...and now me!!
When mum and stepdad had it, it had:
- Full SS bodykit
- 16" Speedy Ninja alloys
A minor incident around 12 months ago changed that and the kit and wheels were removed. Kit went onto a VN and rims went onto mums new VY.
Grandfather put new front and rear bars on it and stockies off mums VY and done a little tinkering.
Now...todays specs are:
- 1996 Holden VS Acclaim SII V6 Ecotec
- 4 Spd Auto
- Lowered (around an inch or so I guess)
- Full exhaust system with extractors
- SS Rear wing
- ECU remap and performance chip (also remapped)
- Cold Air Induction kit
- Kenwood Headunit
- Kenwood 6" Front with fusion tweeters
- Kenwood 6" rear
- Cadence Amp
- 12" Pioneer Sub
For being a V6, it has alot of power which suprised me.
It is still lowered but its rollin on stockies at present.
Future changes/mods include:
- Level 3 Digital instrument cluster from Statesman/Calais (JC Members - help a brother out)
- Full retrim
- Possible respray
- New bodykit
- 18/19" Rims
- Full stereo fit-out
- Clear side indicators
- Maybe some more engine work
No doubt there is more to add to that list, but I cannot think of them all at this time.
I know its not a V8, i know its stock and doesnt look like much, but right now, i dont care.
There is quite a story to this car but I will explain it to each of you some other time.
This car provails over my pulsar and it is a great improvement.
Good feedback welcome

looks good mateeven though the vr-vs are getting on they can still be such a smart and sexy looking car
i have a vs calais and i wouldnt trade her for the world
in fact they had a used car review (somewhere i cant remember where now) but they where saying that for the used car market the vs models are what the young enthusiast should get into as they are a good all round package and they have the ecotec motor without the extra weight of a later model commodore
also parts are goodncheap from the wreckers to!
Neat VS mate. Good to see our host has an interest in what they are hosting. Hopefully that means that even you don't wanna see down time on this forum. Don't worry about it being fairly stock mate we all had to start somewhere. I found a pic of my car that was taken after I lowered it (My first mod, no other pics at standard height unfortunately) and can't believe how far its come.
Thanks Nick,
Yes I like to share interest in the car scene...and seeing I signed up to JC not long before it went down, I was also upset to see it vanish...which is why I jumped at Darren to let us help get JC back.
My eyes are on JC consistently, as they are with every other server we have operational around the globe.

Hey guys,
I'm looking at purchasing some 18" wheels for my car...finally.
As I am a person who cant make up their mind, I am asking for opinions on good wheels to go on my car (chrome/no chrome, style, make, brands etc)
All suggestions welcome at this stage and if you want to photoshop some wheels on for my own viewing, by all means go nuts. If you need a better pic for doing this, let me know and I'll get one to you.
Please bare mind with rim selection is that the Hightek Hosting signage is sometimes on this car (large magnets) so I don't want anything too over the top that is going to take the focus away from our signage
I look forward to your suggestions.

Go for the internationals- they make a Commodore look tops without being too much.
In fact they are on my wish list to replace the VN Calais rims (v8 sedan) I have now. Maybe in a few years time.![]()

Well...i have a good update!!
Monday it was my birthday...and as a present to myself and Hightek Hosting....I thought "What the hell, just do it!"....so....
I bought some smick new shoes for my pride and my god...I love them
No further lowering, no guard rolling....just slipped her shoes on and drove away...no rub, no scrub, which I was expecting with it already being lowered.
Anyway, her new shoes are a set of 19x8 IB 801 GTS Replicas wrapped in nice 235x35's.
The lookers, comments and heads turning on the way back from the place I bought them were enough to please me.
Keep an eye out on the forums...there is a full story behind the place I bought the tyres and I have a big speal to post up about then.
Anyway, check out the images below and I would love to see the feedback.

man that one low profile tyre on them rims wouldnt want to run over a stone or hit a big pothole or them rims are gonna be history
Looks awesome. Certainly changes the look of your car dramatically! Makes me want some new rims![]()
Thats hot car you got there. When parking be careful of the tall gutters!!!! Don't wanna get gutter rash on ya rims.
Just another update...
Completed LVL3 dash conversion today thanks to markovr.
His "plug 'n play" loom saved me hours of mucking around and works a treat!
I would suggest a level 3 upgrade to anyone...level2's are so boring now...lol![]()
Nice Ride, will be more exciting with M90 strapped on hey![]()
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
nice rims, gonna need some big brakes to fill those rims a little ehh. also consider getting some clear side repeater lenses from a later model, looks better then the standard orange lenses on the VS (i'm looking for some also, i have the exact same colour VS)

Nice choice on rims dude, hopefully we'll get to see it in the flesh on the JCCC NSW putty road cruise (date TBA), it'd be great to have you along!
Hopefully i'll have my new VE 19's on my VS before then
Take it easy mate and hope to hear from ya soon![]()
