Lol, yeah black and white plates are the only way to go, heaps of ppl go ohh you shoulda got red and white to suit the car, but i think all colored plates look tacky as.

yeh its a pretty decent mess of wires ya got there, but cable ties will do no probs...um cam and tune, go to mc automotive and see wat they can do, get a lumpy cam and make sure it chews threw a ****load of petrol lol
also just sent ya a pm bout the twin turbo setup u are goin 2 put on ur car soon, ohh was i meant 2 keep that quiet?????

Yeah just got the PM, sounds good man, gotta sort the other fags out though, they can never make up there damn mind.
Best bet is to buy a cheap VN/VP scrap it and use all drive line.

Just went down to APS and got a quote for diff gears and a cam/tune....
$1450 for rebuilt limo with any gears i want. (He recommended 3.9's)
$3500 for drive in drive out cam and tune.
I dont know if these prices are any good, as its the first quote ive got, but i was amazed how pricey the cam was, i didnt think it would be that bad.
He also said he wont do just a gear swap in the diff, he will only do a rebuild as well, as he thinks its asking for trouble.

the rebuilt lsd and gears price is good about what you'd expect to payat most places.
$3500 for a cam and tune? that seems fairly steep did he give quotes on what your getting for $3500? You could rebuild a v8 for that and while your at it put a cam in.

Yeah, I think the cam and tune is exy...your looking at like $900 for a custom tune, then where does the left over $2600 go? Into a cam and labor, expensive can and labor if you ask me.

Yeah thats what i though when i asked him... so i didnt bother to go into details.
So i dont know what kinda cam and what not that was.
I thought the diff price was alright but i wasnt really after getting mine rebuilt as to me it feels very strong (always limo's, chirps when turning tight corners or when going slow and turning) and he wouldnt just do a straight swap of the gears.

sounds like your diff might have been rebuilt before they never made them tight from factory. Maybe ring a few more joints for quotes

Well thats what i had thought, cause an lsd after 240,000 k's shouldnt be that tight right?
I may be wrong, but personally it feels strong to me, and ive been in 5ltrs before with lsd, and they have singled pegged half the time even in the wet and stuff and mine dont do that.
Also ACCIDENTLY bid on a gilmer drive on ebay.... OOPS lol

Any mechanic should be able to have a cam in, in one day, having a lazy day at that, 60$ a hour and 500-600 worth of parts it doesn't add up to $3500

Well.... got my gilmer kit in the mail today, god damn that was lightning fast delivery.
If any one wants a set i would definatly reccomend that seller, i bid on it on monday night and payed for it straight away through net bank and received today, that was like over night delivery!! And i didnt pay extra for express post or anything
I may attempt putting it on tonight, hope i dont run into any dramas

Yeah mate gilmer drive is on. BUT its rubbing on somthing so gotta take another look at it today.

Gilmer is all sorted, should be fine now.
Also finally got round to changing plugs and leads, damn that was fun lol, topped up fluids and all that jazz too, so shes runnin smooth now, much smoother idle
