lol you guys must be looking at the first pic in post #1 to say she needs lowering... that was how i got her! The 2nd pic in post #1 is after a bit of work and with 18's, and how she's lookin now is first pic in post #12, riding on steelies, but thats only until new tyres and wheels go on in a couple of weeks.

I know what you meant about the monstercar stance though swordsy, i practically needed a step ladder to get in the thing!

Mattgreen, the price for wheel repairs depends on the extent of the damage, i've only ever spoken to one guy about this stuff and quoted about $140 per rim to repaint, providing any damage on them isnt to excessive. With the chrome grills i was originally going to go for the open type, but spoke to holden earlier today and they said it could be $100+ for the pair so i thought f*** that, so maybe i'll settle for the calais ones with the vertical bars in them: (New Genuine) Holden Commodore VR-S GRILLE LEFT CALAIS, hopefully they'll look alright, better than the matt silver ones i've got atm.

Nick, i really hope they do look good mate! I havent seen any vr/vs with these rims so hopefully it'll be a little unique and look phat too lol! I didnt wanna never see my SSZ rims again, thats why my gf has them on her vs. I think they go better against her car colour (rubens mica) too. All she needs is to lower it haha. Anyway i reckon they'd go great with your colour and kit, im so envious of your s pack kit, i wish i had one!

MR Vee Zed, come off the grass mate, they prob wont fit the gemi! Besides they'll be on my car before next cruise so ya cant have em oh and depending on whats out there + if i can be stuffed i might get a level 3 dash put in Have ya got your SV6 back yet? And yeah i want some of those altezza headlights so badd, they look awesome on amanda's (gf) car aye... Thing is i've got other things to get that are more important (tyres, gearbox rebuild) before them. Cars are annoying like that.

Cruzncommo, it's dumped on supers in front, ultras in rear... with the 15" steelies my cat scrapes on speed humps so i reckon i prob would get done for too low lol. The 19's will actually lift her up a bit, i know the 18's did.

Oh and in other news, while i was at holden this morning i asked about the vy ss / monaro pedals... $50 each pedal! I should have got them last time i asked when they were $35 each. $200 for a set of pedals is a bit rich for my blood atm. Apparently the prices on spare parts are going up to factor in the rising petrol prices eg freight of goods. Man oh man, i'm gonna try and find them somewhere cheaper.

Cheers guys

just another little update...

got my pedals yesterday and put them in today, i've gotta say the clutch pedal was soo incredibly hard to get on, but i got there after a bit of sweat and swearing! While putting the brake pedal on (the first one i tried doing) i managed to slip with the screwdriver (i was using to tuck the rubber behind the pad) and stabbed myself in the nose, that hurt a bit . Anyway, here's how they look:

I also got my hands on some very hard to find VS berlina grilles thru ebay. I wanted the chrome lip but without the vertical bars that the calais ones have. My dad got these for his white VS from the factory and they look good on his car, but crap on mine, as they have a silver background behind the chrome lip. So hopefully all i'll have to do is rub back the silver to get a chrome/black scheme going, that'll look much better!

I also won an auction on ebay yesterday to get my hands on a level 3 dash! It's out of a vr calais, 199,000 kms on it, got it for 76 bucks! Got the trip computer controls for 15 bucks, and will soon be buying a loom to suit from JC user markovr that he's made up to suit what i'm doing. And at this stage, i think i wanna do something with the dash before i put it in regarding dials, i just dont know what! Any suggestions? Oh and i dont think i'll be changing from the green dash lights as my car is green and interior illumination is green throughout so would look weird another colour. Lol i'm not sure though, might just leave the dials how they are for a while and see how i like them. Should be coming some time next week!

Oh and tyres for my 19's will be getting done in the next few weeks, cant wait.

lol whats so funny ryan? Oh i just got it, the look on the guys at holden spares faces when you ask them if these pedals will fit your gemi lol.

lol nar anyway i got my level 3 cluster, berlina grills, new rear rotors. Painting calipers while they're off, dunno if i'll do the fronts yet or wait until i get some VT ones. Also debadged the rear xcept of course for the lions, theyre staying. Also the ecotec badges on the sides will stay for the moment as it looks like they werent removed whenever my car was resprayed, and have an outline of not enough paint around them. oh well.

I think i want to change the level 3 gauges somehow, was thinking EL backlighting but i dunno. let me know what you guys think.

Cheers

hey thanks rch, gonna be good to see so many new faces at the cruise! I'm working on a few different things atm that'll hopefully be done before it. Might i also say that that's a great colour on your VT, i really like it! The monaro headlights will set it off too.

hey matt my neons for the front footwells are wired to a switch i mounted in the front fuse cover (the one thats around the steering column), next to it i have a switch to turn off the interior light so it can be off with the doors open, then i have 2 other neons on the console around the shifter and 2 more under the front seats. Theyre all wired to the accessories. Also a green neon in the boot, just wired in place of the original. I'll be sure to check out your ride to see your install!

Yeah so ive got a few things i'm workin on atm

Brakes: just replaced the rear rotors, just DBA oem spec as thats all i could get my hands on at 3:30 on a sunday arvo lol, but they'll do just fine. While i was there i replaced handbrake shoes, painted the non-contact areas on the rotors and the metal plate behind it with matt black, painted the calipers with bright red engine enamel, will be doing the VT twin piston upgrade with 296mm curved slotted discs with police pads, braided lines and VT master cylinder, and of course matching red calipers for the front

Level 3 dash upgrade with new LED's in trip computer windows (leaving the whole lot with the green theme as everything else is green and any other colour would look silly), replacing main gauge globes with arctic blue of blue vision globes for a whiter light, satin chrome gauge surrounds and using custom loom courtesy of markovr

Custom painted black/chrome VS berlina grilles, redo chrome pinstriping along rear bumper

19" VE-SSV rims with 235/35 'kangs... unsure if white walls would go with GM wheels or not though? Let me know what you think.

Cheers

hmmm been a while since the last update, but i've been pretty busy with mods over the last 2 months including:

Genuine monaro pedals (shown above)

Level 3 cluster upgrade, with satin chrome dial surrounds. Before i installed it i dismantled and resoldered the voltage regulator to help with smooth operation of fuel and temp gauges. Replaced main globes with philips blue vision globes, they proved to give off more light than the originals, so definately worth it. Also got the odometer reprogrammed to match original. The modified loom i bought from jc user markovr works perfectly with all functions and eliminated much headache associated with such a conversion.

Pics:

Debadged rear, wont be removing ecotec badges on sides until respray as it looks like they were left on and only masked over last time it was resprayed. It'd look dodgy without them atm. Redone black trim strip in rear bumper as i'd previously pinstriped over the original stuff and it wasnt very smooth, making the pinstripe look funny. Went over again with some smooth strip and new chrome pinstripe. Looks much better now .

VS berlina chrome grilles for the front bumper. I've had a go at painting the grey background on these with black paint at it will look better, but i'm not happy with it so i havent put them on yet. I'll probably be taking it back to the grey background and getting a pro to do it.

Finally got my 19" VE SS-V's on, with Nankang NSII rubber. Imo they look totally awesome!

Replaced rear rotors with DBA oe spec, with new handbrake shoes while i was there. Painted non contact areas with matt black paint, and painted the calipers with bright red engine enamel.

Did the VT brake upgrade, calipers painted with bright red engine enamel/matt black paint, with 296mm gold electroplated curved slotted rotors and police spec pads, non contact areas painted black. 1" VT master cylinder, braided lines. From what i've read, this mod generates various levels of success when used on the vs commodore. That said, i can safely say from what i've done in regards to this upgrade, it's working really really well! There's no "spongy pedal, long brake travel" or anything like that. All i've noticed so far is perhaps slightly more pressure needed on the pedal to slow down/stop, and that it stops on a dime! It'll probably get better still once the pads have had sufficient time to bed in properly. I couldnt be happier with how this mod turned out. And they look awesome behind the new mags!

All that was what i've been up to until the putty road cruise (17/2). Since then i've had a small altercation with a truck tailgate and now need a new boot lid, boot hinges and might as well replace the tail lights while i'm at it. I'll be getting the calais ones, and maybe a few layers of tint put on them too. Hopefully before i get the new boot lid sprayed i can find a vr/vs s pack boot lip spoiler, get it installed and get the joins smoothed over. And perhaps also delete the boot lock. These things happen i guess. It's annoying in the fact that it's knocked my plans to rebuild the gearbox back a little bit, but i'll get there.

List of priorites in the near future:

1. New boot + tail lights and what not
2. Rego
3. Rebuild gearbox and install new exedy HD (cushioned) button clutch and pressure plate with rigid flywheel
4. YT split ratio RR's
5. Dr Bob memcal

Cheers and enjoy

Looking good mate. The wheels look amazing, and so does the cluster conversion.
