    Default rptrvs (raptor vs)

    name:james

    year:1996/7(not sure) vs acclaim

    engine:3.8 v6

    auto

    Diff: lsd 3.89.

interiortock besides some seat covers and that

    paint: Seagull White

stereo: kenwood mp3 player, the rest is clarion.

mods: lowered, on sl. colour coded everything. raptor supercharger. 70mm throttle body. 2.5 exhaust with red back extractors i think they are. and a high flow cat. Intercooled, not sure of the dimensions of the cooler, but most of the piping is 3inch.
more mods added, lsd diff with 3.9 gears, and the 4th auto, with corvette servos, kevlar bands z pack clutch plates, stage 2 shiftkit,

just thought id put up some new pics and the dyno sheet showing 203.9rwkw
as you can see we have no second muffler or tips this is because the muffler was destroyed and it blocked the tips so we had to cut them off.

also the new exhaust is one, if someone can show me how to attach a file ill upload the video clip with the exhuast half gone

Ah, been waiting to sight this beast for a while now, certainly glad that exhaust crapped itself, looks like it was a real power sapping beast.

That cooler install looks the item and who is doing the custom tune?

Also make sure you have a centrifugal supercharger spring (special order from Turbosmart) in that turbosmart valve (looks like turbosmart) otherwise you will be calling me soon because the blower is not working. I would also be suprised if you aren't experiencing some sort of poor running due to the atmospheric venting of metered air, all metered air must stay in the system otherwise engine will run like a dog at some parts of the rpm range. Kepp ear open for compressor surge, if there is any contact me at your soonest convenience and we can discuss what has to be done to bring the system into balance. Compressor surge is a fluttering sound when you snap the throttle shut or when you cruise at 4 - 5k rpm on a neutral throttle a continous flutter ..... extremely damaging to all superchargers.

Another thing which goes into a Raptor (factory kit for VT etc) intercooled kit is the Gen 3 air flow meter, very important if you want to maintain tuning resolution to push past 200rwkw.

Thats about it, with good tune and good (as in very good) exhaust and rockers 205rwkw should be a snap, proven many times.

hey guys bit of an update. all boost problems have been fixed. hit 9 psi at 130km/h its gonna get back on the dyno soon.

all it was. was the air flow meters and that on the wrong side. had to be after the bov. and the boost gauge, where we put it caused us to loose 4 psi lol. its all sweet now. ill get more pics up.

Bud thats terrific to hear, as I say to a lot of people so long as the blower is still runing the problem will be somewhere else in the system

Top marks an I know you will be enjoying some decent thrust!

You had it dynoed since the cooler was fitted? Spoke to Tim and he said the 174rwkw was pre cooler, and i would hope so too. You have any idea what its puting out now? What did the LSD with 3.89's cost you, as i am looking into an LSD or Mini-Spool with 3.73's in it for mine and i would like a rough price range?

i got it off ebay through some dodgy guy that took 2 months to get it. the diff cost me $750. the diff was fitted and the speedos out 20km/hs, its going to get dynoed soon, hopefully next week. it should be making around 210-220rwkw.

wow its been ages since i last posted, we went throught 2 autos till we had one that is strong enough, the car has to be taken back to horsepower factory to get re-tuned, it made 203.9rwkw last time, the new auto has corvette servos kevlar bands stage 2 shift kit and some other goodies, we are hoping to get it retuned before the cruise for charity, and run more boost and some rockers. to hit just under 250rw-kw
